prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
In Part 3 of the “Prophetic Mysteries of the Miracles Of Jesus”, we will focus in on certain events of casting out demons and clearly show that these foretold the judgment and destruction of the demonic forces of darkness. Yet, we need to set our terms and read the declaration of Jesus concerning Himself and His power in this spiritual war.

Jesus Is Unique
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
Luke 11:15-23 “But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.” (16) Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven. (17) But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls. (18) If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. (19) But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. (20) But if I by God’s finger cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come to you. (21) “When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe. (22) But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armor in which he trusted, and divides his plunder. (23) “He that is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters.” (See Also) Mark 3:22-26 & Matthew 12:22-30.

Jesus Clearly Defines Two Immutable Things In The Above Discourse:
- He is wholly separate and different than the satanic power found in Satan and Evil Spirits.
- He Is Operating In The Power Of God Against The Forces Of Darkness.
While we will be covering other examples of Jesus casting out demons, I have separated them into selections of what I believe was the intended revelation of the miracle. In these, we will cover Jesus not only declaring His authority over the forces of darkness, but He is also foretelling their punishment and destruction.

HOT TAKE
Before it was fully revealed to His followers and those He was trying to reach, the demonic realm was fully informed on Who and What Jesus was and His mission. We find this expressed in the following verse:
Mark 1:32-34 “At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick, and those who were possessed by demons. (33) All the city was gathered together at the door. (34) He healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.”

So when it says “they knew him”, we can be fooled into believing they just knew Him as He was presented after His birth, which was The Lamb of God ready to be slain.
Isaiah 53:7-9 “He was oppressed, and He was afflicted; yet He opened not His mouth. He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter; and as a sheep before its shearers is dumb, so He opened not His mouth. (8) He was taken from prison and from judgment; and who shall declare His generation? For He was cut off out of the land of the living; for the transgression of My people He was stricken. (9) And He put His grave with the wicked, and with a rich one in His death; although He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth.”
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
While this was hidden at the time that Jesus must die as a lamb, even at first from His disciples, as we see here:
Luke 9:44-45 “Let these words sink down into your ears. For the Son of Man shall be betrayed into the hands of men. (45) But they did not understand this, and it was hidden from them so that they did not perceive it. And they feared to ask Him of this word.”

Yet, when it says they “knew him”- it was more than just His mission, they knew Him as their executioner. In the following verse, we can clearly see what made the demons tremble before Jesus. Speaking of the end of time, we read the following description of Jesus:
Revelation 19:11-16 “I saw the heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it is called Faithful and True. In righteousness he judges and makes war. (12) His eyes are a flame of fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has names written and a name written which no one knows but he himself. (13) He is clothed in a garment sprinkled with blood. His name is called “The Word of God.” (14) The armies which are in heaven followed him on white horses, clothed in white, pure, fine linen. (15) Out of his mouth proceeds a sharp, double-edged sword, that with it he should strike the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He treads the wine press of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. (16) He has on his garment and on his thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

We can continue to understand that in these miracles of casting out demons, more was being revealed at a time that no one truly understood but the demons themselves.
Mark 1:23-27 “Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out, (24) saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!” (25) Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!” (26) The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him. (27) They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!” SEE ALSO: LUKE 4:31-37

Once again, we will see a similar situation play out with the demonic already understanding the following:
- Jesus was the Son of God.
- He had a mission.
- It meant their destruction.
- That there was an appointed time for this to happen.

So for those around these events, if they had paid very close attention and had ears to hear it, they could have known so much about what was really going to happen. Yet looking back, we can see the prophetic intensity of the moment.
Matthew 8:28-34 “When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way. (29) Behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?” (30) Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them. (31) The demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.” (32) He said to them, “Go!” They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water. (33) Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons. (34) Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.”
- Have you come to destroy us?
- Have you come here to torment us before the time?”
These demonic forces are already looking towards a future event. An event they know will bring out their end.
What we are witnessing with these demons being cast out is a preview of the forces of darkness being cast into the depths of hell. Let’s unlock the prophetic language and symbolisms being used.

- In the Gospel of Mark we get an interesting description of the demons.
Mark 5:12-13 “And all the demons begged Him, saying, Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them. (13) And immediately Jesus allowed them. And the unclean spirits went out and entered into the pigs. And the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea (they were about two thousand), and were choked in the sea.”

- The Unclean Spirit Being Sent Into What Was, At The Time, Unclean Pigs.
Leviticus 11:7-8 “The pig is unclean to you because its hoof is divided (the hoof is completely split in two), even though it does not chew the cud. (8) You must not eat from their meat and you must not touch their carcasses; they are unclean to you.”
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
- As we learned in Part 2, Jesus walking on the water.
Revelation 17:15 “He said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.”
So the Unclean Spirits are put into unclean pigs and then thrown into the water that represents fallen humanity, to die. We see even more proof of this implication in the following verses:
Revelation 18:1-3 “And after these things I saw another angel come down from Heaven, having great authority. And the earth was lighted up from his glory. (2) And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great has fallen, has fallen! And it has become the dwelling-place of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a cage of every unclean bird which has been hated, (3) because of the wine of the anger of her fornication which all the nations have drunk. And the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her. And the merchants of the earth became rich from the power of her luxury.”

We have just read that spiritual Babylon is a mixture of demonic and humanity, all in rebellion against God. That is the habitation of unclean spirits, just as we read about the demons and the pigs. Just like we learned in Part 2 Jesus walking on water, Jesus is calling His people out and separating them from the waters of humanity. Here again in the following verse from the above verses, says the same:
Revelation 18:4 “And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that you may not be partakers of her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues.”
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew tells us that HELL was prepared for these demonic unclean spirits. So we can see the punishment of these demons has been set in stone before Jesus ever walked the earth.
Matthew 25:41 “Then He also shall say to those on the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels.”
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
We continue reading from the above verses, declaring the fearful destruction that will befall the demonic forces. As they are imprisoned into this spiritual Babylon, the same Babylon world system we are called out of.
Revelation 18:5-8 “For her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities. (6) Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double. (7) However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, ‘I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.’ (8) Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire; for the Lord God who has judged her is strong.”
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
When Jesus was casting out the unclean spirit, He was foretelling of future events. It was a minor display of grand performance set at an appointed time that the demons already knew about. It was a declaration of His authority that the masses did not understand or comprehend.
Mark 1:27 “They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
- Yet, Jesus cleared up their understanding with the following statement:
Matthew 28:18 “Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.”
As we can clearly see, these demons knew more about Jesus and the plan of judgment that the entirety of humanity did not understand at the time the miracle was enacted. This was prophetic in its performance. The demonic realm understood the future date of what was to come, and that they were short on time, yet the time was not yet. Put simply, they knew the timeline.
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
- Here again, we see that Satan knows that the time is short and is closing in.
Revelation 12:12 “Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.”

Future Tense
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
- So, what did the demonic forces know was coming?
- What had them so frantic to try to buy a little extra time being cast into pigs?
- What made them resort to quoting a decree of God for immediate relief from the power of Jesus?
- What was Jesus giving us a foreshadowing of in His demonstration of casting out the demonic forces?
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
Well, Let’s Read:
Revelation 19:20-21 “The beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked the signs in his sight, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. (21) The rest were killed with the sword of him who sat on the horse, the sword which came out of his mouth. All the birds were filled with their flesh.”
Revelation 20:7-15 “And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison, (8) and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war; the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. (9) They went up over the width of the earth, and surrounded the camp of the saints, and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God and devoured them. (10) The devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet are also. They will be tormented day and night forever and ever. I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them. (12) I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. (13) The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. (14) Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. (15) If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire.”

Some Final Thoughts:
In “Part 2: Jesus Walking on Water,” we showed how Jesus separated the called from the masses. In this study, God’s people are called out of Babylon. When Jesus cast out demons, He was again separating people from the forces of darkness. We see this continually in scripture, wheat and tares, wide path and narrow path, mark of God and mark of the beast, sheep and goats, faithful and unfaithful servant, etc. In the prophetic miracle of casting out the demons, we are told of the future events. Yet, it is an exercise Jesus gave His disciples to also perform while He walked the earth.
Matthew 10:1 “He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.”
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
We are called today to continue to prophetically carry out this foretelling act, declaring the judgment and destruction of the forces of darkness.
Mark 16:15-20 “He said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the Good News to the whole creation. (16) He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who disbelieves will be condemned. (17) These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new languages; (18) they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will in no way hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (19) So then the Lord, after he had spoken to them, was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. (20) They went out, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed. Amen.”
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
I hope we can clearly understand that the unclean demonic forces understood more than the people of Jesus’ day. Looking back, it was foretelling the outcome and future events and work of Jesus before it was revealed.
- Jesus was the Son of God.
- He had a mission.
- It meant their destruction.
- That there was an appointed time for this to happen.
prophetic mysteries of the miracles of Jesus
What Jesus was doing in these miracles of casting out unclean spirits, was declaring a prophetic event of the judgment and destruction of them- Jesus declaring His full authority over the demonic realm and forces of darkness. Just like in “Part 2: Jesus Calms The Storm And Seas”, He again is showing His authority. So, He has authority of all nations, peoples, tongues, multitudes, and over all demonic spiritual power. In our next study, we will cover His complete authority over death.
