In the miracle of Jesus walking on water, we will reveal that this is a clear representation of the separation of humanity, the chosen of God, and the Son of God being above them all. This reveals our future destiny in Christ Jesus. Then we will include the miracle of calming the storm to show Jesus’ ultimate power to bring us peace, both spiritually and physically. Yes, the obvious is calming the storms in our life, but it goes much deeper than that.

Called & Separated From the World

Jesus Walking On Water.

Matthew 14:22-33 “Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dispersed the crowds. (23) And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone. (24) Meanwhile the boat, already far from land, was taking a beating from the waves because the wind was against it. (25) As the night was ending, Jesus came to them walking on the sea. (26) When the disciples saw him walking on the water they were terrified and said, “It’s a ghost!” and cried out with fear. (27) But immediately Jesus spoke to them: “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.” (28) Peter said to him, “Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.” (29) So he said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus. (30) But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” (31) Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?” (32) When they went up into the boat, the wind ceased. (33) Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Unlocking The Key To Wilderness.

Revelation 12:5-6 “So the woman gave birth to a son, a male child, who is going to rule over all the nations with an iron rod. Her child was suddenly caught up to God and to his throne, (6) and she fled into the wilderness where a place had been prepared for her by God, so she could be taken care of for 1,260 days.”

Revelation 12:14 “But the woman was given the two wings of a giant eagle so that she could fly out into the wilderness, to the place God prepared for her, where she is taken care of – away from the presence of the serpent – for a time, times, and half a time.”

So, the wilderness represents being separated alone, away from that which is influenced by the Devil and his people (basically, the demonic.)

We Find Jesus Going To The Wilderness, To The Mountaintop Alone. This shows His separation from the people in general. Even to show the distinction between Him and His disciples.

Matthew 14:22 “And after he sent the crowds away, he went up the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone.”

Unlocking The Key To The Water.

Revelation 17:15 “He said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and languages.”

We Find Jesus Walking Over The Water. This show that Jesus is separated and above all of humanity.

Matthew 14:25 “As the night was ending, Jesus came to them walking on the sea.”

So, the waters represent humanity and all that rebelled against God and is fallen. With Jesus walking on top of it, He is showing that He is exceptional and different in the paradox of life. Coming from the mountain shows His origin is unlike our own, separate from this creation.

Let’s Combine The Two Keys To Better Unlock Our Understand.

Revelation 12:14-16 “But the woman was given the two wings of a giant eagle so that she could fly out into the wilderness, to the place God prepared for her, where she is taken care of – away from the presence of the serpent – for a time, times, and half a time. (15) Then the serpent spouted water like a river out of his mouth after the woman in an attempt to sweep her away by a flood, (16) but the earth came to her rescue; the ground opened up and swallowed the river that the dragon had spewed from his mouth.”

Again, we see that with our understanding the water is people, strife, and destruction, the earth or wilderness for our purposes is separation, security, and care.

Then we add one more Key to complete the picture. To continue to show that the land, wilderness, earth, is separation away from evil and sin, present in God’s care.

Exodus 19:3-4 “Moses went up to God, and the LORD called to him from the mountain, “Thus you will tell the house of Jacob, and declare to the people of Israel: (4) ‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt and how I lifted you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.”

God took Israel from Egypt and brought them to the desert to separate them and spare them the attacks of the Egyptians. Just like in the above Revelation verses, the woman being taken away with two giant eagle wings being taken to the wilderness.

Unlocking The Wilderness & The Water.
What Is The Deep, Prophetic Meaning That We Are Being Shown?

Jesus was separate, being shown here on the mountaintop being separate and alone. He walked upon the water that represented humanity and all that has fallen, rebelling against God. Showing us how He is separate, special, and unlike the rest of humanity. This miracle is an allegory showing Jesus coming from heaven to earth to save the children of God.

John 6:51 “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Jesus came from heaven, in our example it is shown as the wilderness mountaintop. He walked upon the water as separated from the rest of humanity. He is shown as a distinct being, without sin and rebellion against God.

But Wait, There Is More……

Unlocking The Boat And The Disciples In The Boat.
The Boat Of Safety and Salvation

In the following verses, we can clearly see the Ark of Noah and boats are used in scripture to convey separation from the wicked, lost, safety, and salvation through faith.

We can say that faith can be described as a boat.

Hebrews 11:6-7 “Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (7) By faith Noah, when he was warned about things not yet seen, with reverent regard constructed an ark for the deliverance of his family. Through faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.”

1 Peter 3:18-21 “Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; (19) in which he also went and preached to the spirits in prison, (20) who before were disobedient, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ship was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. (21) This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you—not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,”

Jesus Walked To The Disciples That Were In A Boat.

Matthew 14:24-26 “Meanwhile the boat, already far from land, was taking a beating from the waves because the wind was against it. (25) As the night was ending, Jesus came to them walking on the sea. (26) When the disciples saw him walking on the water they were terrified and said, “It’s a ghost!” and cried out with fear.”

The disciples were not in the wilderness separated from humanity like Jesus. Yet, they were not in the water like rebellious humanity. They are in a different condition here.

Now Remember It Was Jesus Who Put Them In the Boat!

Matthew 14:22a “Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, …”

This shows us that the disciples were selected and separated from the masses. As we see here in the following verses, we must be called by God to receive salvation through faith. We are called to get in the boat of faith and salvation.

John 6:44 “No man can come to me except the Father who has sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

John 15:16+19 “You have not chosen me, But I have chosen you, and ordained you… But I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.”

Then We See Jesus Disperse the Crowds.

Matthew 14:22 “Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dispersed the crowds.”

As we can see here in the separation of the masses drawn to Jesus, many are called but few will be chosen.

Matthew 22:14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.”

We also see that Jesus has a specific mission for those given to Him, and He focuses on that mission. Leaving the masses to set the stage of the miracle.

John 17:9 “I pray for them. I don’t pray for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.”

This shows that the disciples are special, unique compared to the rest of humanity. They represent those chosen by God to receive the fullness of salvation. They are put in the boat that sits on top of the water, but still is in the water. Unique, yet still close enough to the issue of humanity and life, they are at risk and danger, even the loss of their personal salvation. Despite this separation and middle ground, their lives will not be without risk of falling into humanity once more.

Unlocking The Peter Parable Water Walking Failure.
Now Peter Asks To Walk Upon The Water With Jesus.

Matthew 14:27-29 “But immediately Jesus spoke to them: “Have courage! It is I. Do not be afraid.” (28) Peter said to him, “Lord, if it is you, order me to come to you on the water.” (29) So he said, “Come.” Peter got out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.”

We can understand that Peter is asking to walk above fallen humanity like Jesus and to be like Him. To go and be with Him, this is what we are all called to do. This also foretells the eventual conclusion of the salvation process.

John 12:26 “If anyone wants to serve me, he must follow me, and where I am, my servant will be too. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.”

John 14:3 “And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too.”

This also foretells the final conclusion of the matter to be with Jesus forever.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 “For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with God’s trumpet. The dead in Christ will rise first, (17) then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.”

Then The Prophetic Lesson Begins. Peter starts to fail the exercise of truly following Jesus.

Matthew 14:30-31 “But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!” (31) Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him, saying to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Jesus was foretelling not only chosen humanity’s perilous position as we strive to be with God, but also Peter’s future failure. Notice how Jesus tells this to all the disciples, and like our example above, Peter is used as the example.

To The Group:

Matthew 26:31-35 “Then Jesus said to them, “This night you will all fall away because of me, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ (32) But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” (33) Peter said to him, “If they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away!” (34) Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, on this night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times.” (35) Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.” And all the disciples said the same thing.”

To Peter More Specifically:

Luke 22:31-34 “Simon, Simon, pay attention! Satan has demanded to have you all, to sift you like wheat, (32) but I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. When you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” (33) But Peter said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!” (34) Jesus replied, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know me.”

Please do notice it was Peter declaring his unfailing commitment of Jesus here, and it was Peter who had enough faith to walk out of the boat on top of the water.

What happened to Peter? His focus was shaken and he became afraid by the strong winds.

Matthew 14:30-31 “But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”

As we continue to unlock Peter and the strong winds. We will go ahead and unlock another similar Prophetic Miracle. This will explain the next miracle and tie it into the miracle we just covered. It will reveal the strong winds prophetic declaration.

Miracle: Jesus Calms The Storm And Seas

Jesus Is Above All Creation & Can Tame The Nations And Spirits With Their Wars!

Jesus Stilled The Storm.

Matthew 8:23-27 “When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him. (24) Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep. (25) They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!” (26) He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm. (27) The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

Here we see Jesus has prophetically come to earth, and is with the chosen of God. He is enduring the same experience as the children of God, being in the same boat as they. All around them the seas roar, and the wind rages. We will remember it was the strong wind that caused Peter to fail. Peter was representing the called-out ones and the struggle they will endure to achieve the goal of being with God.

John 16:33 “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage – I have conquered the world.”

Revelation 7:13-14 “Then one of the elders asked me, “These dressed in long white robes – who are they and where have they come from?” (14) So I said to him, “My lord, you know the answer.” Then he said to me, “These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!”

Unlocking The Winds Of War.

Daniel 7:2-3 “Daniel explained: “I was watching in my vision during the night as the four winds of the sky were stirring up the great sea. (3) Then four large beasts came up from the sea; they were different from one another.”

Hosea 13:14-16 “Will I deliver them from the power of Sheol? No, I will not! Will I redeem them from death? No, I will not! O Death, bring on your plagues! O Sheol, bring on your destruction! My eyes will not show any compassion! (15) Even though he flourishes like a reed plant, a scorching east wind will come, a wind from the LORD rising up from the desert. As a result, his spring will dry up; his well will become dry. That wind will spoil all his delightful foods in the containers in his storehouse. (16) Samaria will be held guilty, because she rebelled against her God. They will fall by the sword, their infants will be dashed to the ground – their pregnant women will be ripped open.”

As we see, winds can prophetically represent war, judgment, and turmoil. It can also represent the four cardinal directions- alluding to all around or everything.

Unlocking The Flooding Of The Boat.

Matthew 8:23-24 “When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him. (24) Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.”

The Key: Rough Water = War, Turmoil, And Persecution.

Jeremiah 47:2 “Look! Enemies are gathering in the north like water rising in a river. They will be like an overflowing stream. They will overwhelm the whole country and everything in it like a flood. They will overwhelm the cities and their inhabitants. People will cry out in alarm. Everyone living in the country will cry out in pain.”

Isaiah 8:6-8 “These people have rejected the gently flowing waters of Shiloah and melt in fear over Rezin and the son of Remaliah. (7) So look, the Lord is bringing up against them the turbulent and mighty waters of the Euphrates River – the king of Assyria and all his majestic power. It will reach flood stage and overflow its banks. (8) It will spill into Judah, flooding and engulfing, as it reaches to the necks of its victims. He will spread his wings out over your entire land, O Immanuel.”

The Water And The Waves Together.

Isaiah 17:12-13 “Beware, you many nations massing together, those who make a commotion as loud as the roaring of the sea’s waves. Beware, you people making such an uproar, those who make an uproar as loud as the roaring of powerful waves. (13) Though these people make an uproar as loud as the roaring of powerful waves, when he shouts at them, they will flee to a distant land, driven before the wind like dead weeds on the hills, or like dead thistles before a strong gale.”

So, we are told in this prophetic miracle that we will suffer war, turmoil, and tribulation, and yes, persecution: Represented by the raging water and turbulent winds.

2 Timothy 3:12 “Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”

The Test Of Faith In The Winds And Waves Of Life.

So like when Jesus walked on the water and Peter got out of the boat to come be like Jesus, to be with Jesus it was prophetic winds of war, tribulation, and persecution that will challenge the faith of those who seek after God. We see in both miracles it was the lack of faith that allowed the failure to be present in the disciples. For our understanding for those who are called to Jesus, it is faith that will decide the outcome of our journey and walking above the water of humanity in the winds of tribulation or not.

Calming The Storm = Little Faith

Matthew 8:25-27 “They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!” (26) He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm. (27) The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

Walking On water = Little Faith

Foretelling The Danger As Described In the Parable of the Sower.

Mark 4:16-17 “These in the same way are those who are sown on the rocky places, who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with joy. (17) They have no root in themselves, but are short-lived. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they stumble.”

Yet, We Are Admonished By Jesus To Have Faith.

Romans 8:31-39 “What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (32) He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? (33) Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies. (34) Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. (35) Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (36) Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” (37) No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (38) For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, (39) nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from God’s love, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Fear Not Be Bold And Trust God As We Float In the Boat Of Faith Above The Nations. Jesus Will Come And Make Wars, Tribulation, Persecution To All End. Just Like When Jesus Got In The Boat After Walking On Water.

Matthew 14:32 “When they went up into the boat, the wind ceased.”

Psalms 46:2-11 “Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; (3) though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling. Selah. (4) There is a river, the streams of which make the city of God glad, the holy place of the tents of the Most High. (5) God is within her. She shall not be moved. God will help her at dawn. (6) The nations raged. The kingdoms were moved. He lifted his voice, and the earth melted. (7) Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. (8) Come, see Yahweh’s works, what desolations he has made in the earth. (9) He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire. (10) “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.” (11) Yahweh of Armies is with us. The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.”

Jesus Is Coming Back And We Will Have The Victory.

We can clearly see how the disciples were separated and called from the masses. Chosen by Jesus and put in the boat of faith. Sent to sail on, but separated, from the waters representing people, nations, and multitudes. Jesus was on the mountaintop wilderness alone, unlike the rest of creation, unique and special. Coming down from heaven to walk above all creation, perfect and without sin. Calling to His disciples to have no fear of Him, but have faith and trust Him. Peter as an expression of the chosen of God, represents the final step in the journey, leaving the boat of faith, and to Jesus, representing our final journey at His return to be caught in the clouds to be with Him forever. It was also revealed that the struggle will be real. The water raged and the winds blew, representing war, strife, and tribulation. That some will fall back into humanity and their walk will suffer through a lack of trust and faith, because of their fear- looking to the struggles of life, instead of their Savior King. These prophetic miracles reveal so much about the plan of salvation, our walk with God, and the outcome. Let not the beating of the waves upon the boat of your faith cause you to fail. No. Have no fear, trust God and Jesus, and stay the course. The outcome is sure and has been revealed. Jesus is in the boat with us and we will be with Jesus forever, above the waters.
