Please see Part 3 âExposing Anti-Christ Teachersâ of Escaping Babylon to understand more about false teachers, their motives, and how they use the Body of Christ to fulfill ego, pride, and selfishness.
Focus Verse: Matthew 7:21-23 âNot everyone who says to me, âLord, Lord,â will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. (22) Many will tell me in that day, âLord, Lord, didnât we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?â (23) Then I will tell them, âI never knew you. Depart from me, you who work iniquity.ââ
Today we will be explaining and exposing real and false prophets. Many false prophets are active and busy tricking the Body of Christ to stay in Babylon. Therefore, it is of the utmost importance to expose these silver-tongue liars, and fully support the true prophets. So, with no further delay, letâs begin!
False Prophets
Philippians 3:1-3 âFinally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not tiresome, but for you it is safe. (2) Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision. (3) For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh;â
Psalms 146:3-4 âPut not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. (4) His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.â
Psalms 118:8-9 âIt is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in man. (9) It is better to take refuge in Yahweh, than to put confidence in princes.â
Jeremiah 17:5 âYahweh says: âCursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.â
Isaiah 2:22 âStop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?â

False Prophets
Deuteronomy 18:17-19Â âYahweh said to me, âThey have well said that which they have spoken. Â (18)Â I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you. I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him. Â (19)Â It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.â
Amos 3:7Â âSurely the Lord Yahweh will do nothing, unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.â
Ephesians 3:3-6Â âHow that by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I wrote before in few words, Â (4)Â by which, when you read, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ; Â (5)Â which in other generations was not made known to the children of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; Â (6)Â that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of his promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News,â
Hebrews 1:1-2Â âGod, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, Â (2)Â has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds.â
James 5:10Â âTake, brothers, for an example of suffering and of perseverance, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.â
Jeremiah 14:14Â âThen Yahweh said to me, âThe prophets prophesy lies in my name. I didnât send them. I didnât command them. I didnât speak to them. They prophesy to you a lying vision, divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their own heart.â
2 Peter 3:1-2Â âThis is now, beloved, the second letter that I have written to you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mind by reminding you; Â (2)Â that you should remember the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior:â
- They Declare Mysteries Of God
Revelation 10:7Â âbut in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as he declared to his servants, the prophets.â
False Prophets
- Prophecy Is To Encourage The Body.
1 Corinthians 14:22 âSo then, tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers. Prophecy, however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.â
1 Corinthians 14:3-4 âBut he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation. (4) He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly.â Build_Teach_Comfort!
Example:
1 Timothy 1:18-19 âI put this charge before you, Timothy my child, in keeping with the prophecies once spoken about you, in order that with such encouragement you may fight the good fight. (19) To do this you must hold firmly to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck in regard to the faith.â
- All Prophecy Is Incomplete & Done Only In Part, Portion, Or Allotment.
1 Corinthians 13:9-10Â “For we know in part, and we prophesy in part, Â (10)Â but when what is perfect comes, the partial will be set aside.â
- It Is God Who Works In The Spiritual Gifts, Not Man.
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 âNow there are various kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. (5) There are various kinds of service, and the same Lord. (6) There are various kinds of workings, but the same God, who works all things in all.â
- It Is God Who Calls The Prophet. They Cannot Call themselves!
Jeremiah 29:15Â âBecause you have said, âYahweh has raised us up prophets in Babylon;â
1 Corinthians 12:27-28Â âNow you are the body of Christ, and members individually. Â (28)Â God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages.â
- Prophecy, Like All Other Spiritual Gifts, Is Not Meant For Selfishness, But For The Service Of The Body Of Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:7 âBut to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all.â
- It is the Holy Spirit That Decides If A Person Will Receive The Gift Of Prophecy.
1 Corinthians 12:10-11 âand to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discerning of spirits; to another different kinds of languages; and to another the interpretation of languages. (11) But the one and the same Spirit produces all of these, distributing to each one separately as he desires.â
- Real Prophecy Is The Holy Spirit Moving Within The Vessel.
Luke 1:67-68 âThen his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied, (68) âBlessed be the Lord God of Israel, because he has come to help and has redeemed his peopleâŠ.â
Note: You can have dreams and prophesy without being a prophet. You can also be a prophet and never have dreams or visions.
Prophecy & Prophets Are A Good Thing!
- Paul Says He Desires That All Can Prophesy.
1 Corinthians 14:1 âPursue love and be eager for the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy.â
1 Corinthians 14:5 âI wish you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you would prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets so that the church may be strengthened.â
False Prophets
- People Can Only Prophesy According To Their Faith.
Romans 12:6 âHaving gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, letâs prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;â
- Prophecy Can Fail (Yet A Prophet From God Never Will!)
1 Corinthians 13:8-10 âLove never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. Â (9)Â For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; Â (10)Â but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.â
- Prophecy Should Not Be Exalted Higher Than Needed In The Body.
1 Corinthians 13:2 âIf I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but donât have love, I am nothing.â
False Prophets
Luke 6:26Â âWoe, when men speak well of you, for their fathers did the same thing to the false prophets.â
Isaiah 30:9-10Â âFor it is a rebellious people, lying children, children who will not hear Yahwehâs law; Â (10)Â who tell the seers, âDonât see!â and to the prophets, âDonât prophesy to us right things. Tell us pleasant things. Prophesy deceits.â
2 Timothy 4:3-4Â âFor the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; Â (4)Â and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn away to fables.â
Micah 2:11Â âIf a lying windbag should come and say, âIâll promise you blessings of wine and beer,â he would be just the right preacher for these people!â
False Prophets
Matthew 7:15Â âBeware of false prophets, who come to you in sheepâs clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves.â
Matthew 24:11-12Â âMany false prophets will arise, and will lead many astray. Â (12)Â Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.â
2 Peter 2:1Â âBut false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.â
Acts 20:28-30Â âTake heed, therefore, to yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of the Lord and God which he purchased with his own blood. Â (29)Â For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Â (30)Â Men will arise from among your own selves, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.â
- We Are Called To Reject False Prophets.
Jeremiah 23:14-16Â âIn the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.â Â (15)Â Therefore Yahweh of Armies says concerning the prophets: âBehold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall; for from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has gone out into all the land.â Â (16)Â Yahweh of Armies says, âDonât listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yahweh.â
- By Their Very Nature They Destroy Their Own Followers.
Hosea 4:5Â âYou stumble day and night, and the false prophets stumble with you; You have destroyed your own people!â
False Prophets
Matthew 24:24Â âFor there will arise false christs, and false prophets, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.â
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 âFor such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christâs apostles. (14) And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. (15) It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.â
Mark 13:22-23Â âFor false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, the elect. Â (23)Â Be careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.â
- Sometimes Even People In Rebellion Against God Can Be Used To Prophecy.
John 11:49-52 âBut a certain one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them, âYou know nothing at all, (50) nor do you consider that it is advantageous for us that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.â (51) Now he didnât say this of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, (52) and not for the nation only, but that he might also gather together into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.â
So, even an accurate prophecy that comes true is no sign of a prophet, as we know Satan will use lying signs and wonders.
- God Uses False Prophets To Test The Hearts Of His People.
Deuteronomy 13:1-5 âSuppose a prophet or one who foretells by dreams should appear among you and show you a sign or wonder, (2) and the sign or wonder should come to pass concerning what he said to you, namely, âLet us follow other godsâ â gods whom you have not previously known â âand let us serve them.â (3) You must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer, for the LORD your God will be testing you to see if you love him with all your mind and being. (4) You must follow the LORD your God and revere only him; and you must observe his commandments, obey him, serve him, and remain loyal to him. (5) As for that prophet or dreamer, he must be executed because he encouraged rebellion against the LORD your God who brought you from the land of Egypt, redeeming you from that place of slavery, and because he has tried to entice you from the way the LORD your God has commanded you to go. In this way you must purge out evil from within.â
1 Kings 22:20-23Â âYahweh said, âWho will entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?â One said one thing; and another said another. Â (21)Â A spirit came out and stood before Yahweh, and said, âI will entice him.â Â (22)Â Yahweh said to him, âHow?â He said, âI will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.â He said, âYou will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.â Â (23)Â Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.â
False Prophets
Our First Response When Someone Says They Are A Prophet Is To Immediately Start Testing The Spirit Of That Prophet.
- We Are To Never Take Anything Said In The Name Of The Lord and God At Face Value, We Must Dig Deeper.
1 John 4:1-3 âBeloved, donât believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (2) By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, (3) and every spirit who doesnât confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.â (Not Just A Jesus, But THE JESUS of Scripture.)
- By Their Fruit You Will Know The Truth.
Matthew 7:15-20Â âBeware of false prophets, who come to you in sheepâs clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. Â (16)Â By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? Â (17)Â Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. Â (18)Â A good tree canât produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. Â (19)Â Every tree that doesnât grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. Â (20)Â Therefore by their fruits you will know them.â
- Inquire In What Way Do They Know They Were Sent By God.
- Make Sure They Line Up With The True Gospel Of Christ.
Galatians 1:6-9Â âI marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different âgood newsâ; Â (7)Â and there isnât another âgood news.â Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Christ. Â (8)Â But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any âgood newsâ other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed. Â (9)Â As we have said before, so I now say again: if any man preaches to you any âgood newsâ other than that which you received, let him be cursed.â
- Make Sure What The Prophet Says Lines Up With The Rest Of The New Testament Writings Also.
1 Corinthians 14:37 âIf any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.â
- All Real Prophecy Is A Testimony Of Jesus Christ For The Edification Of His BodyâŠPeriod!
Revelation 19:10 âSo I threw myself down at his feet to worship him, but he said, âDo not do this! I am only a fellow servant with you and your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.â
- Prophecy Cannot Be Our Own Made Up Imagination.
2 Peter 1:20-21 âAbove all, you do well if you recognize this: No prophecy of scripture ever comes about by the prophetâs own imagination, (21) for no prophecy was ever borne of human impulse; rather, men carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.â
- False Prophets Make Up Lies Out Of Their Own Imaginations.
Jeremiah 23:26-32Â âHow long will this be in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, even the prophets of the deceit of their own heart? Â (27)Â They intend to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they each tell his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name because of Baal. Â (28)Â The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream; and he who has my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the straw to the wheat?â says Yahweh. Â (29)Â âIsnât my word like fire?â says Yahweh; âand like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? Â (30)Â âTherefore behold, I am against the prophets,â says Yahweh, âwho each steal my words from his neighbor. Â (31)Â Behold, I am against the prophets,â says Yahweh, âwho use their tongues, and say, âHe says.â Â (32)Â Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,â says Yahweh, âwho tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didnât send them or command them. They donât profit this people at all,â says Yahweh.â
Ezekiel 13:1-3Â âYahwehâs word came to me, saying, Â (2)Â âSon of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, âHear Yahwehâs word: Â (3)Â Thus says the Lord Yahweh, âWoe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!â
False Prophets
- This Is A Great Way To Test For Liars & False Prophets.
All Prophecy is to be tested and evaluated by other Prophets for accuracy and correction. When a prophets speaks it in not to be taken as absolute until tested.
1 Corinthians 14:29 âTwo or three prophets should speak and the others should evaluate what is said.â
- All Prophets & Prophecies Are To Be Tested By The Body.
1 Thessalonians 5:19-21 âDonât quench the Spirit. (20) Donât despise prophesies. (21) Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.â
- Ask: Are They Saying The Words Of God?
Deuteronomy 18:17-18Â âThe LORD then said to me, âWhat they have said is good. Â (18)Â I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them whatever I command.â
- A Prophet Never Fails To Get It Correct!
1 Samuel 3:19Â âSamuel continued to grow, and the LORD was with him. None of his prophecies fell to the ground unfulfilled.â
Deuteronomy 18:20-22Â âBut if any prophet presumes to speak anything in my name that I have not authorized him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. Â (21)Â Now if you say to yourselves, âHow can we tell that a message is not from the LORD?â â Â (22)Â whenever a prophet speaks in my name and the prediction is not fulfilled, then I have not spoken it; the prophet has presumed to speak it, so you need not fear him.â
- Are They Selling Their Prophecies?
Micah 3:11Â âHer leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on Yahweh, and say, âIsnât Yahweh among us? No disaster will come on us.â
Compare This to Elijah Refusing The Gifts From Naaman in 2 Kings 5:1-15, then Gehaziâs greed in thus taking the money.
- Are They Putting ON A Show?
Matthew 6:7Â âIn praying, donât use vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.â
- Pray For Discernment & And Seek God!
Proverbs 2:2-5Â âSo as to turn your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; Â (3)Â Yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding; Â (4)Â If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures: Â (5)Â then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God.â
- Pray For The Teacher, The Holy Spirit Will Guide You Unto All Truth.
John 14:26Â âBut the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.â
False Prophets
Now that we know that we are to test- we also test the conduct of the Prophet and Prophetess and make sure they line up with scripture.
- Beware Of Ego-Filled Prophets.
Matthew 20:25-28Â âBut Jesus summoned them, and said, âYou know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. Â (26)Â It shall not be so among you, but whoever desires to become great among you shall be your servant. Â (27)Â Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant, Â (28)Â even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.â
Ultimately a real Prophet of God will present himself as if he doesnât even exist. He will bring no attention to himself other than what is required to deliver the message of God. They will strive like Jesus did to turn all eyes and hearts to God. They will be filled with a humble spirit, while at the same time speak with boldness the truth delivered to them.
- All Who Prophesy Are To Submit And Make Room For Others Who Do The Same.
1 Corinthians 14:29-30 âLet the prophets speak, two or three, and let the others discern. (30) But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.â
- Those Who Prophesy Must Do So In An Orderly Fashion.
1 Corinthians 14:31 âFor you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted.â
- Prophets Must Be In Control Of Themselves And Not Act In Foolishness.
1 Corinthians 14:32 âThe spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,â
- All Prophets And Prophecy Should Bring Peace And Order To The Assembly.
1 Corinthians 14:33 âfor God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.â
- A Male Who Delivers A Prophecy With His Head Covered Dishonors Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:4 âEvery man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonors his head.â
A Female Who Prays Or Prophecies With Her Head Uncovered Dishonors The Male Over Her.
1 Corinthians 11:5 âBut every woman praying or prophesying with her head uncovered dishonors her head. For it is one and the same thing as if she were shaved.â
We Know This Is So As We Read:
1 Corinthians 11:3 âBut I would have you know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.â
Ultimately, Males and Females dishonor themselves if they dishonor their head.
False Prophets
Prophets & Teachers Are Two Different Gifts
- Prophecy, Revelation, Knowledge & Teaching Are All Different Things.
1 Corinthians 14:6Â âBut now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you, unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?â
Just because they believe they are a prophet and can prophesy, doesnât mean they should be teachers. Yet, in modern times this is a common practice.
False Prophets
This section was originally 3 pages long. I decided to leave it out as the study was already very long. But the short version is that there is no set way a person becomes a prophet in scripture. Some are visited directly by God, some have dreams or visions, some have hands laid upon them, and sometimes the spirit just comes on them, or is poured out on them. Yet, the most powerful prophets in scripture talked directly with God.
Matthew 11:7-11, Jude 1:14-15, Genesis 20:5-7, 1 Samuel 3:1-21, 1 Samuel 10:5-6, 1 Samuel 28:15-17, Numbers 11:29, 2 Timothy 1:6, Acts 19:5-6, Acts 8:14-16, Acts 2:17-18, John 1:21-22 Numbers 12:6
False Prophets
1 Samuel 10:5-6Â âAfter that you will come to the hill of God, where the garrison of the Philistines is; and it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a lute, a tambourine, a pipe, and a harp before them; and they will be prophesying. Â (6)Â Then Yahwehâs Spirit will come mightily on you, and you will prophesy with them, and will be turned into another man. Â (7)Â Let it be, when these signs have come to you, that you do what is appropriate for the occasion; for God is with you.â
1 Samuel 10:11Â âWhen all who knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then the people said to one another, âWhat is this that has come to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?ââ
1 Samuel 28:15-17Â âSamuel said to Saul, âWhy have you disturbed me, to bring me up?â Saul answered, âI am very distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God has departed from me, and answers me no more, by prophets, or by dreams. Therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I shall do.â Â (16)Â Samuel said, âWhy then do you ask me, since Yahweh has departed from you and has become your adversary? Â (17)Â Yahweh has done to you as he spoke by me. Yahweh has torn the kingdom out of your hand, and given it to your neighbor, even to David.â

False Prophets
Deuteronomy 18:20Â âBut the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.â
Jeremiah 23:9Â âHere is what the LORD says concerning the false prophets: My heart and my mind are deeply disturbed. I tremble all over. I am like a drunk person, like a person who has had too much wine, because of the way the LORD and his holy word are being mistreated.â Jeremiah 23:37-40Â âYou will say to the prophet, âWhat has Yahweh answered you?â and, âWhat has Yahweh spoken?â Â (38)Â Although you say, âThe message from Yahweh;â therefore Yahweh says: âBecause you say this word, âThe message from Yahweh,â and I have sent to you, telling you not to say, âThe message from Yahweh;â Â (39)Â therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you, and I will cast you off, and the city that I gave to you and to your fathers, away from my presence. Â (40)Â I will bring an everlasting reproach on you, and a perpetual shame, which will not be forgotten.ââ PLEASE SEE ALL OF JEREMIAH 23
- How God Will Punish False Prophets, And How God Will Punish Those Who Listen To False Prophecy.
Jeremiah 14:14-16Â âThen Yahweh said to me, âThe prophets prophesy lies in my name. I didnât send them. I didnât command them. I didnât speak to them. They prophesy to you a lying vision, divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their own heart. Â (15)Â Therefore Yahweh says concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name, but I didnât send them, yet they say, âSword and famine will not be in this land.â Those prophets will be consumed by sword and famine. Â (16)Â The people to whom they prophesy will be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword. They will have no one to bury themâthem, their wives, their sons, or their daughters, for I will pour their wickedness on them.â

Matthew 12:33-37Â âEither make the tree good, and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit. Â (34)Â You offspring of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. Â (35)Â The good man out of his good treasure brings out good things, and the evil man out of his evil treasure brings out evil things. Â (36)Â I tell you that every idle word that men speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. Â (37)Â For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.â

- We Are To Listen To The True Prophets Sent By God, and Obey The Message.
Jeremiah 26:4-5Â âYou shall tell them, âYahweh says: âIf you will not listen to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you, Â (5)Â to listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you, even rising up early and sending them, but you have not listened;â
- You Are Responsible If You Deny A Prophet of God.
Deuteronomy 18:17-19Â âThe LORD then said to me, âWhat they have said is good. Â (18)Â I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them whatever I command. Â (19)Â I will personally hold responsible anyone who then pays no attention to the words that prophet speaks in my name.â
1 Chronicles 16:22 âDonât touch my anointed ones! Do my prophets no harm!â
Numbers 21:5-7Â âThe people spoke against God, and against Moses, âWhy have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, and there is no water; and our soul loathes this disgusting bread.â Â (6)Â Yahweh sent venomous snakes among the people, and they bit the people. Many people of Israel died. Â (7)Â The people came to Moses, and said, âWe have sinned, because we have spoken against Yahweh, and against you. Pray to Yahweh, that he take away the serpents from us.â Moses prayed for the people.â
So, as we can see, this is a very deep topic. The masses are destroyed from a lack of knowledge, making themselves very easily manipulated by flamboyant, egotistical false prophets. We have learned how to guard ourselves from these extraordinary liars. Yet, we need to keep our spirits sensitive for the appearing of real prophets of God. When a real prophet arrives being given to the Body by God, we must honor the office and seek God. That being said, we must never enter into âhero worshipâ- exalting a mere mortal to a position they should never be. We must walk a fine line of being ready for prophets, but on guard against false prophets. Always Testing The Spirits!
