PD7-So-You-Think-You-Are-A-Christian

-Fact 1: John 1:12-13  “But as many as received Him, He gave to them authority to become the children of God, to those who believe on His name,  (13)  who were born, not of bloods, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God.”

-Fact 2: 1 John 2:22-23 “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist.  (23)  Everyone who denies the Son neither has the Father. The one confessing the Son also has the Father.”

-Fact 1: John 1:1-2 + 14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was fully God.  (2)  The Word was with God in the beginning.” + “Now the Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We saw his glory – the glory of the one and only, full of grace and truth, who came from the Father.”

-Fact 2: Revelation 19:11-13 “Then I saw heaven opened and here came a white horse! The one riding it was called “Faithful” and “True,” and with justice he judges and goes to war.  (12)  His eyes are like a fiery flame and there are many diadem crowns on his head. He has a name written that no one knows except himself.  (13)  He is dressed in clothing dipped in blood, and he is called the Word of God.”

-Fact 1: Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit (which is the word of God).”

-Fact 2: Colossians 3:16  “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with grace in your hearts to God.”

-Fact 3: Hebrews 4:12  “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.”

-Fact 1: Mark 8:38 “For if anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

-Fact 2: Matthew 10:32-33 “Whoever, then, acknowledges me before people, I will acknowledge before my Father in heaven.  (33)  But whoever denies me before people, I will deny him also before my Father in heaven.”

-Fact 1: John 3:16-18 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  (17)  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.  (18)  He who believes on Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.”

-Fact 1: Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

-Fact 2: 1 John 3:4 “Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; indeed, sin is lawlessness.”

-Fact 3: 1 John 1:8+10 “If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. + If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar and his word is not in us.”

-Fact 1: 1 John 3:5 “And you know that Jesus was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.”

-Fact 1: 1 Corinthians 15:3 “For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received – that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,”

-Fact 2: Isaiah 53:5-6 “But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed.  (6)  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one to his own way; and Jehovah has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

-Fact 1: 1 Corinthians 15:4-5  “And that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures,  (5)  and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve.”

-Fact 2: 1 Thessalonians 4:14  “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians.”

-Fact 1: Hebrews 4:14-16 “Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.  (15)  For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin.  (16)  Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.”

-Fact 2: Hebrews 5:7-10  “For Jesus, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications with strong cryings and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard in that He feared,  (8)  though being a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.  (9)  And being perfected, He became the Author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him,  (10)  being called by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek;”

-Fact 3: Hebrews 8:1-3 + 6  “Now the sum of the things which we have spoken is this: We have such a High Priest, who has sat down on the right of the throne of the Majesty in Heaven,  (2)  a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.  (3)  For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One have something to offer also. Hebrews”  +  “”But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much He is also the Mediator of a better covenant, which was built upon better promises.”

-Fact 1: John 14:6 “Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

-Fact 2: Acts 4:11-12 “This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, that has become the cornerstone .  (12)  And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among people by which we must be saved.”

-Fact 3: 1 John 2:23 “Everyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either. The person who confesses the Son has the Father also.”

-Fact 1: Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 “This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.  (14)  For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.”

-Fact 2: Psalms 96:13 “Before the LORD, for he comes! For he comes to judge the earth! He judges the world fairly, and the nations in accordance with his justice.”

-Fact 1: Acts 17:30-31 “Therefore, although God has overlooked such times of ignorance, he now commands all people everywhere to repent,  (31)  because he has set a day on which he is going to judge the world in righteousness, by a man whom he designated, having provided proof to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

-Fact 2: 1 John 1:9 “But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness.”

-Fact 1: Acts 2:38 “Peter said to them, “Repent and each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

-Fact 2: Romans 6:1-8 “What shall we say then? Are we to remain in sin so that grace may increase?  (2)  Absolutely not! How can we who died to sin still live in it?  (3)  Or do you not know that as many as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?  (4)  Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may live a new life.  (5)  For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will certainly also be united in the likeness of his resurrection.  (6)  We know that our old man was crucified with him so that the body of sin would no longer dominate us, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin.  (7)  (For someone who has died has been freed from sin.)  (8)  Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.”

-Fact1: 2 Corinthians 1:21-22  “But it is God who establishes us together with you in Christ and who anointed us,  (22)  who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a down payment.”

-Fact 2: Ephesians 1:13-14  “And when you heard the word of truth (the gospel of your salvation) – when you believed in Christ – you were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit,  (14)  who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.”

-Fact 3: FRUITS – Galatians 5:22-25 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  (23)  gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.  (24)  Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.  (25)  If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit.”

-Fact 4: GIFTS – 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 “Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit.  (5)  And there are different ministries, but the same Lord.  (6)  And there are different results, but the same God who produces all of them in everyone.  (7)  To each person the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the benefit of all.  (8)  For one person is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, and another the message of knowledge according to the same Spirit,  (9)  to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,  (10)  to another performance of miracles, to another prophecy, and to another discernment of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.  (11)  It is one and the same Spirit, distributing as he decides to each person, who produces all these things.”

-Fact 1: 1 Peter 1:2 “According to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit to obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you.”

-Fact 2: Romans 1:2-5 “This gospel he promised beforehand through his prophets in the holy scriptures,  (3)  concerning his Son who was a descendant of David with reference to the flesh,  (4)  who was appointed the Son-of-God-in-power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.  (5)  Through him we have received grace and our apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of his name.”

-Fact 3: Romans 6:16-17  “Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or obedience to righteousness?  (17)  But thanks be to God that you were slaves of sin, but you obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine to which you were delivered.”

-Fact 4: Romans 16:25-27  “Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that had been kept secret for long ages,  (26)  but now is disclosed, and through the prophetic scriptures has been made known to all the nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith –  (27)  to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be glory forever! Amen.”

-Fact 5: 1 Peter 1:21-23 “Through him you now trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.  (22)  You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from a pure heart.  (23)  You have been born anew, not from perishable but from imperishable seed, through the living and enduring word of God.”

-Fact 1: Matthew 7:15-20 “Watch out for false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are voracious wolves.  (16)  You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered from thorns or figs from thistles, are they?  (17)  In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.  (18)  A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit.  (19)  Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  (20)  So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.”

-Fact 1: 1 John 1:6-7 “If we say we have fellowship with him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth.  (7)  But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

-Fact 1: 1 John 2:9-11 “He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness until now.  (10)  He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no offense in him.  (11)  But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because darkness has blinded his eyes.”

-Fact 2: 1 John 4:19-21 “We love because he loved us first.  (20)  If anyone says “I love God” and yet hates his fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his fellow Christian whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.  (21)  And the commandment we have from him is this: that the one who loves God should love his fellow Christian too.”

-Fact 1: 1 John 5:2-4 “By this we know that we love the children of God: whenever we love God and obey his commandments.  (3)  For this is the love of God: that we keep his commandments. And his commandments do not weigh us down,  (4)  because everyone who has been fathered by God conquers the world. This is the conquering power that has conquered the world: our faith.”

-Fact 1: 1 John 2:3-6 “Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments.  (4)  The one who says “I have come to know God” and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person.  (5)  But whoever obeys his word, truly in this person the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in him.  (6)  The one who says he resides in God ought himself to walk just as Jesus walked.”

-Fact 2: 1 John 3:21-24  “Dear friends, if our conscience does not condemn us, we have confidence in the presence of God,  (22)  and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing to him.  (23)  Now this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he gave us the commandment.  (24)  And the person who keeps his commandments resides in God, and God in him. Now by this we know that God resides in us: by the Spirit he has given us.”

-Fact 1: John 14:15-18 “If you love me, you will obey my commandments.  (16)  Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever  (17)  the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he resides with you and will be in you.  (18)  “I will not abandon you as orphans, I will come to you.”

-Fact 2: John 14:21 “The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.”

-Fact 3: John 15:9-10 “Just as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you; remain in my love.  (10)  If you obey my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commandments and remain in his love.”

-Fact 1: Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven – only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven.  (22)  On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many powerful deeds in your name?’  (23)  Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!’”

-Fact 2: 1 John 3:4-6 “Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; indeed, sin is lawlessness.  (5)  And you know that Jesus was revealed to take away sins, and in him there is no sin.  (6)  Everyone who resides in him does not sin; everyone who sins has neither seen him nor known him.”

-Fact 1: 1 John 3:7-10 “Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Jesus is righteous.  (8)  The one who practices sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed: to destroy the works of the devil.  (9)  Everyone who has been fathered by God does not practice sin, because God’s seed resides in him, and thus he is not able to sin, because he has been fathered by God.  (10)  By this the children of God and the children of the devil are revealed: Everyone who does not practice righteousness – the one who does not love his fellow Christian – is not of God.”

-Fact 2: John 8:42-47 “Jesus replied, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come from God and am now here. I have not come on my own initiative, but he sent me.  (43)  Why don’t you understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot accept my teaching.  (44)  You people are from your father the devil, and you want to do what your father desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.  (45)  But because I am telling you the truth, you do not believe me.  (46)  Who among you can prove me guilty of any sin? If I am telling you the truth, why don’t you believe me?  (47)  The one who belongs to God listens and responds to God’s words. You don’t listen and respond, because you don’t belong to God.

-Fact 1: James 2:17-26 “Even so, if it does not have works, faith is dead, being by itself.  (18)  But someone will say, You have faith, and I have works. Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith from my works.  (19)  You believe that there is one God, you do well; even the demons believe and tremble.  (20)  But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?  (21)  Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?  (22)  Do you see how faith worked with his works, and from the works faith was made complete?  (23)  And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was imputed to him for righteousness, and he was called the friend of God.”  (24)  You see then how a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.  (25)  And in the same way, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she had received the messengers and had sent them out another way?  (26)  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

-Fact 2: 3 John 1:11 “Beloved, do not imitate the bad, but the good. He who does good is from God, but he who does evil has not seen God.”

-Fact 3: Ephesians 2:8-10 “For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God,  (9)  not of works, lest anyone should boast.  (10)  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.”

-Fact 1: John 5:26-29 “For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.  (27)  He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.  (28)  Don’t marvel at this, for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice,  (29)  and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.”

-Fact 2: 1 Corinthians 15:21-24 “For since death came by man, the resurrection of the dead also came by man.  (22)  For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.  (23)  But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then those who are Christ’s, at his coming.  (24)  Then the end comes, when he will deliver up the Kingdom to God, even the Father; when he will have abolished all rule and all authority and power.”

-Fact 3: 1 Corinthians 15:52-54  “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.  (53)  For this perishable body must become imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.  (54)  But when this perishable body will have become imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

Fact 1: Revelation 14:12-13 “Here is the perseverance of the saints, those who keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”  (13)  I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them.”

-Fact 2: Revelation 22:12-14 “Behold, I come quickly. My reward is with me, to repay to each man according to his work.  (13)  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.  (14)  Blessed are those who do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.
