God is love. Yes, this is true. Yet it is God who determines what love is. Mankind has taken to determining what love is and has tried to apply this back to God. By starting with a giant dose of indifference, a side of “whinny baby”, and a scoop of “love sick victim”.  Their version of a loving God is a derelict Dad and a complaisant Father. The “almighty god-style”, candy dispenser of wishes and happiness- always giving, never requiring, and always ready to dispense your every wish and desire at no cost. What a load of bull manure!! We will see in this study that God is angry at sinners. He has wrath stored up for those who reject His love. He has Love and Compassion for those who will humble themselves and repent of their sins against Him, but Woe unto those who refuse this peace treaty with the Almighty God. He will make war against you and destroy your very soul! THAT IS A FACT!

Before we go thinking that there is a difference between the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament, let’s look at our focus verse:

Focus Verses: God hasn’t changed because Jesus died for sins!

Malachi 3:6 “For I, Yahweh, don’t change; therefore you, sons of Jacob, are not consumed.”

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”

FEAR GOD.

Deuteronomy 32:39-43 “See now that I, indeed I, am he!” says the LORD, “and there is no other god besides me. I kill and give life, I smash and I heal, and none can resist my power. For I raise up my hand to heaven, and say, ‘As surely as I live forever, I will sharpen my lightning-like sword, and my hand will grasp hold of the weapon of judgment; I will execute vengeance on my foes, and repay those who hate me! I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword will devour flesh – the blood of the slaughtered and captured, the chief of the enemy’s leaders!’” Cry out, O nations, with his people, for he will avenge his servants’ blood; he will take vengeance against his enemies, and make atonement for his land and people.”

Hebrews 10:26-31  “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,  (27)  but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.  (28)  A man who disregards Moses’ law dies without compassion on the word of two or three witnesses.  (29)  How much worse punishment do you think he will be judged worthy of who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?  (30)  For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me,” says the Lord, “I will repay.” Again, “The Lord will judge his people.”  (31)  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Psalms 2:4-9 “He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.  (5)  Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:  (6)  “Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”  (7)  I will tell of the decree. Yahweh said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father.  (8)  Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.  (9)  You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

Psalms 76:7-9 “You, even you, are to be feared. Who can stand in your sight when you are angry?  (8)  You pronounced judgment from heaven. The earth feared, and was silent,  (9)  when God arose to judgment, to save all the afflicted ones of the earth. Selah.”

Exodus 4:24-25 “Now on the way, at a place where they stopped for the night, the LORD met Moses and sought to kill him.  (25)  But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off the foreskin of her son and touched it to Moses’ feet, and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me.”

Exodus 22:22-24 “You must not afflict any widow or orphan.  (23)  If you afflict them in any way and they cry to me, I will surely hear their cry,  (24)  and my anger will burn and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives will be widows and your children will be fatherless.”

Proverbs 6:16-19  “There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him:  (17)  arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood;  (18)  a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief,  (19)  a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.”

THE BIBLE SAYS GOD HATES SINNERS- NOT JUST THEIR SIN:

Psalms 5:5-6 “The arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of iniquity.  (6)  You will destroy those who speak lies. Yahweh abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.”

Psalms 7:11-13 “God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.  (12)  If he does not turn, He will whet His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready.  (13)  Yea, He has fitted him for instruments of death; He has made His arrows hotly pursue.”

Leviticus 20:22-23 “Obey my laws and teachings. Or else the land I am giving you will become sick of you and throw you out.  (23)  The nations I am chasing out did these disgusting things, and I hated them for it, so don’t follow their example.”

Deuteronomy 18:10-12  “There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,  (11)  or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.  (12)  For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh. Because of these abominations, Yahweh your God drives them out from before you.”

Deuteronomy 25:16 “For all who do such things, all who do unrighteously, are an abomination to Yahweh your God.”

Psalms 11:5-7 “Yahweh examines the righteous, but the wicked and him who loves violence his soul hates.  (6)  On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.  (7)  For Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.”

Proverbs 16:5 “Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to Yahweh: they shall certainly not be unpunished.”

Hosea 9:15 “All their wickedness is in Gilgal; for there I hated them. Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of my house! I will love them no more. All their princes are rebels.”

Malachi 1:2-3 “I have loved you,” says Yahweh. Yet you say, “How have you loved us?” “Wasn’t Esau Jacob’s brother?” says Yahweh, “Yet I loved Jacob;  (3)  but Esau I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and gave his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.”

Ephesians 5:5-7 “For you can be confident of this one thing: that no person who is immoral, impure, or greedy (such a person is an idolater) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.  (6)  Let nobody deceive you with empty words, for because of these things God’s wrath comes on the sons of disobedience.  (7)  Therefore do not be sharers with them,”

Colossians 3:4-6 “When Christ (who is your life) appears, then you too will be revealed in glory with him.  (5)  So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry.  (6)  Because of these things the wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience.”

Psalms 9:17 “The wicked shall be turned into hell, all the nations that forget God.”

John 3:35-36 “The Father loves the Son and has placed all things under his authority.  (36)  The one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath remains on him.”

Psalms 34:15-16 “Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.  (16)  Yahweh’s face is against those who do evil, to cut off their memory from the earth.”

Psalms 21:8-13 “Your hand will find out all of your enemies. Your right hand will find out those who hate you.  (9)  You will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of your anger. Yahweh will swallow them up in his wrath. The fire shall devour them.  (10)  You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from among the children of men.  (11)  For they intended evil against you. They plotted evil against you which cannot succeed.  (12)  For you will make them turn their back, when you aim drawn bows at their face.  (13)  Be exalted, Yahweh, in your strength, so we will sing and praise your power.”

Psalms 78:58-64 “For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their engraved images.  (59)  When God heard this, he was angry, and greatly abhorred Israel;  (60)  So that he abandoned the tent of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;  (61)  and delivered his strength into captivity, his glory into the adversary’s hand.  (62)  He also gave his people over to the sword, and was angry with his inheritance.  (63)  Fire devoured their young men. Their virgins had no wedding song.  (64)  Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows couldn’t weep.”

Revelation 14:9-11 “A third angel followed the first two, declaring in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and takes the mark on his forehead or his hand,  (10)  that person will also drink of the wine of God’s anger that has been mixed undiluted in the cup of his wrath, and he will be tortured with fire and sulfur in front of the holy angels and in front of the Lamb.  (11)  And the smoke from their torture will go up forever and ever, and those who worship the beast and his image will have no rest day or night, along with anyone who receives the mark of his name.”

Ezekiel 14:12-23  “Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,  (13)  “Son of man, when a land sins against me by committing a trespass, and I stretch out my hand on it, and break the staff of its bread, and send famine on it, and cut off from it man and animal;  (14)  though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only their own souls by their righteousness,” says the Lord Yahweh.  (15)  “If I cause evil animals to pass through the land, and they ravage it, and it is made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the animals;  (16)  though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord Yahweh, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. Jeremiah 17:5 “Yahweh says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man, relies on strength of flesh, and whose heart departs from Yahweh.”

1 Corinthians 16:22 “Let anyone who has no love for the Lord be accursed. Our Lord, come!”

Genesis 8:20-21 “Noah built an altar to Yahweh, and took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.  (21)  Yahweh smelled the pleasant aroma. Yahweh said in his heart, “I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake because the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth. I will never again strike every living thing, as I have done.”

God Hates the Prayers of the Rebellious Sinners.

The prayers of the wicked are hateful to God.

Proverbs 28:9-10 “He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.  (10)  Whoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he will fall into his own trap; but the blameless will inherit good.”

God doesn’t hear the prayers of the wicked.

Psalms 66:17-18 “I cried to him with my mouth. He was extolled with my tongue.  (18)  If I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord wouldn’t have listened.”

Jeremiah 11:11 “Therefore Yahweh says, ‘Behold, I will bring evil on them, which they will not be able to escape; and they will cry to me, but I will not listen to them.”

Zechariah 7:11-13 “But they refused to listen, and turned their backs, and stopped their ears, that they might not hear.  (12)  Yes, they made their hearts as hard as flint, lest they might hear the law, and the words which Yahweh of Armies had sent by his Spirit by the former prophets. Therefore great wrath came from Yahweh of Armies.  (13)  It has come to pass that, as he called, and they refused to listen, so they will call, and I will not listen,” said Yahweh of Armies;”

The sacrifices and offerings and all their ways are hateful to God.

Proverbs 15:8-9 “The sacrifice made by the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.  (9)  The way of the wicked is an abomination to Yahweh, but he loves him who follows after righteousness.”

Proverbs 21:27 “The sacrifice of the wicked is hateful to God; how much more when he brings it with a wicked mind?”

Wickedness hides you from God’s caring and watchful eye.

Habakkuk 1:12-13 “Aren’t you from everlasting, Yahweh my God, my Holy One? We will not die. Yahweh, you have appointed him for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.  (13)  You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously, and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,”

God Will Send Deception Upon Those Who Refuse His Truth.

Let’s clear up some facts first:

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good?”

Hebrews 6:18 “That by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us.”

 That being said, we see the following proof:

Galatians 6:7 “Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”

Therefore, God will let people be overcome by their own deceptions and lies.

Psalms 18:26 “You prove to be reliable to one who is blameless, but you prove to be deceptive to one who is perverse.”

2 Chronicles 18:19-22 “Yahweh said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.  (20)  A spirit came out, stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’  (21)  “He said, ‘I will go, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go and do so.’  (22)  “Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”

Isaiah 6:8-10 “I heard the Lord’s voice, saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am. Send me!”  (9)  He said, “Go, and tell this people, ‘You hear indeed, but don’t understand; and you see indeed, but don’t perceive.’  (10)  Make the heart of this people fat. Make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn again, and be healed.”

John 12:39-41 “Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,  (40)  “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they should not see with their eyes nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.”  (41)  Isaiah said these things when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.”

Romans 11:7-8 “What then? Israel has not obtained that which it seeks, but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened  (8)  even as it is written, “God gave to them a spirit of slumber, eyes not seeing, and ears not hearing” until this day.”

2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie,  (12)  so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned.”

Exodus 10:1 “And Jehovah said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, so that I might show these My signs before him,”

Romans 9:18 “Therefore He has mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will, He hardens.”

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 “This is the end of the matter. All has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.  (14)  For God will bring every work into judgment, with every hidden thing, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.”

Revelation 14:7  “He declared in a loud voice: “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has arrived, and worship the one who made heaven and earth, the sea and the springs of water!”

You will be gathered together within your cities, and I will send the pestilence among you. You will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.  (26)  When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight. You shall eat, and not be satisfied.  (27)  “‘If you in spite of this won’t listen to me, but walk contrary to me;  (28)  then I will walk contrary to you in wrath. I will also chastise you seven times for your sins.  (29)  You will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.  (30)  I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you.”

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

If you fail to accept this offer from a loving and kind God, you will receive the fullness of His wrath and Hatred against sin. You will be an abomination to him, he will not hear your prayers, he will not help YOU in your day of need, AND he will turn His face from you.
