FOCUS VERSES: 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
“Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together to him, we ask you (2) not to be quickly shaken in your mind, and not be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as if from us, saying that the day of Christ has already come. (3) Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the rebellion [Falling Away/Apostasy] comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction, (4) he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God. (5) Don’t you remember that, when I was still with you, I told you these things? (6) Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season. (7) For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way. (8) Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming; (9) even he whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (10) and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they didn’t receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) Because of this, God sends them a working of error, that they should believe a lie; (12) that they all might be judged who didn’t believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

We must understand that the deception is in the church, not in the world. The world is already lost. The deception is within the gates of the church and has been that way from the start. The world is fallen and will be burned. These warnings are for the church- the body of Christ. Just like last week from 1 John 2:18-19, when we talked about how the antichrist spirit came out of the church. The Bible is written to believers, by believers, in the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s a corrective document for the family of God. Therefore, stop using the Bible just to beat up the world. The New Testament was written to the churches, to get them to step out of their sin and into righteousness through faith with obedience.

Satan’s final masterstroke has been to pretend to be Jesus- our Messiah, the Christ of God. Using this masquerade persona, he has infiltrated the churches and spread heretical doctrine against God and the real Jesus. Many churches have lost a love for the truth, and have received a deceiving spirit of error. They say they worship God, but in the spirit of the world [which is the spirit of rebellion] they have made another god and are actually worshipping Satan. Many have been misled in honesty and do not know this yet, as the truth has been hidden from them. They are not responsible for what they don’t know, but what they could have known. This is what this study seeks to unlock for the Body of Christ; to reveal that Satan is the “Fake Jesus” being taught in the churches, the false “messiah” that’s being preached in the church is actually Satan. Fake Jesus is the Son Of Perdition, Man Of Sin, Anti-Christ, The Lawless one: Fake Jesus is Satan. The church of God has been deceived and led astray by antichrist teachers. So, let’s dig in and continue to explore the startling facts given to us in the Bible.

-LET’S BEGIN-

Son Of Perdition

We will start with a very interesting comment by Jesus. I find His choice of words very cryptic and meaningful for our discussion. I believe this could be Jesus warning us even more than He has before about the False Messiah- the Fake Jesus attack upon the Body of Christ.

The King James Version Says It Like This:

Matthew 11:6 “And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.”

Young’s Literal Translation Says It Like This:

Matthew 11:6 “and happy is he who may not be stumbled in me.’”

Webster Common Version: By Noah Webster, Says It Like This:

Matthew 11:6 “And blessed is he to whom I shall not be the cause of his falling into sin.”

What an unusual statement. How could Jesus be the cause of people falling into sin? I see two options: they rebel against him and therefore sin. Or, as we are teaching in regards to the falling away apostasy in the last days. Meaning they will believe in a false messiah- a fake Jesus. I am of the mind that both can be true, and I believe it is. Allow me to explain why, and in order to do that, we have to dig deeper into the actual word Jesus used in this very profound statement:

The word “Offended” used in the KJV text is the following Greek word:

Strong’s Concordance G4624: σκανδαλίζω – skandalizō – skan-dal-id’-zo

To “scandalize”; from G4625; to entrap, that is, trip up (figuratively stumble [transitively] or entice to sin, apostasy or displeasure): – (make to) offend.

This begs the question, how can a person become entrapped by the real Messiah? How can they be scandalized by the Holy One? How can they be made to sin by the sinless One? Or, be driven to apostasy? Unless He is expressively talking about a false belief and misguided faith in another Jesus, the false Christ He warned them about.

We find the same word offended used in the following verses that speak directly to the point this study is making:

Matthew 24:8-12 “All these are the beginning of sorrows. (9) Then they will deliver you up to be afflicted and will kill you. And you will be hated of all nations for My name’s sake. (10) And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. (11) And many false prophets will rise and deceive many. (12) And because iniquity [Lawlessness] shall abound, the love of many will become cold.”

Again, we see many will become “apostatized, scandalized, and deceived” to sin. Jesus tells us it is because of the iniquity or Lawlessness that will be the cause of this. As we have learned in previous studies, to love God and your fellow man you must keep the Commandments of God. As we see here…

1 John 5:2-3 “By this we know that we love the children of God, whenever we love God and keep His commandments. (3) For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome.”

To bring this back full circle to our intro verse, let’s read the following:

2 Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not arrive until the rebellion comes and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.”

In verse 3, the word “rebellion” means “Apostasy” and is found in Strong’s Concordance under G646 and means: defection from truth (properly the state), (“apostasy”): – falling away, forsake.

So, here we have these 3 verses all talking about apostasy and falling away into sinful rebellion.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 “For the hidden power of lawlessness is already at work. However, the one who holds him back will do so until he is taken out of the way, (8) and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will destroy by the breath of his mouth and wipe out by the manifestation of his arrival.

Here, we are warned about the lawlessness and how the lawless one will be revealed. We have to be clear what lawlessness is in the Bible. Again, this is not man’s laws; it is rebellion against the Law of God.

1 John 3:4 “Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness, for sin is lawlessness.”

Specifically Talking About The Ten Commandments.

James 2:10-11 “For the one who obeys the whole law but fails in one point has become guilty of all of it. (11) For he who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a violator of the law.”

And This Law Is Good.

Romans 7:12 “So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good.”

Therefore, We Uphold The Law Through Faith. (FAKE JESUS DOES NOT)

Romans 3:31 “Law then do we make useless through the faith? let it not be! yea, we do establish law.”

I believe the statement made in Matthew 24:8-12 about being “offended” or caused to sin by Jesus, or to be apostatized, was a prophetic message of the false messiah. The fake Jesus at the end of time, that is the “messiah of lawlessness”, and the disobedience being taught in the churches this very day. The fake Jesus that tells you it’s okay to disobey God and that you don’t have to obey in faith. This is a lie of Satan and is clearly shown in scripture. To disobey God and walk in sinful rebellion, you make yourself a child of Satan. You are not a child of God. This is why the Fake Jesus, the Son of Perdition [who is actually Satan] wants you to walk in sin. He knows it will destroy you.

1 John 3:6-10 “Everyone who abides in Him does not sin. Everyone who sins has not seen Him nor known Him. (7) Little children, let no one deceive you. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as that One is righteous. (8) He who practices sin is of the Devil, for the Devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed, that He might undo the works of the Devil. (9) Everyone who has been born of God does not commit sin, because His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. (10) In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the Devil: everyone not practicing righteousness is not of God, also he who does not love his brother.”

Jesus Has Warned Us Of The False Messiah & False Christ That Will Be Preached!

Matthew 24:4-5 + 9-13 “Jesus answered them, “Watch out that no one misleads you. (5) For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will mislead many…. (9) “Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and will kill you. You will be hated by all the nations because of my name. (10) Then many will be led into sin, and they will betray one another and hate one another. (11) And many false prophets will appear and deceive many, (12) and because lawlessness will increase so much, the love of many will grow cold. (13) But the person who endures to the end will be saved.”

This is not political lawlessness. Yet, it is spiritual lawlessness, the power that enacts the mark of the beast has absolute power to change times and laws, and to force the mark of the beast. This is not lawlessness or oppression by the laws of the land. No, Jesus said this lawlessness is from God’s law, not mans. Jesus clearly says many will be lead to apostasy/ made to sin. This fact of obedience or disobedience is the defining characteristic of the Fake Jesus.

As we see here, lawlessness is sinning against God and His Law.

1 John 3:4 “Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.”

Fake Jesus Is The Lawless One, As He Preaches Against Obedience To God.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 “For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way. (8) Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;”

Jesus Said The Deception Of The False Messiah Will Be So Great, That It Could Even Deceive The Very Elect Of God.

Matthew 24:23-28 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe him. (24) For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (25) Remember, I have told you ahead of time. (26) So then, if someone says to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe him. (27) For just like the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. (28) Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.”

This Is Why He Wonders If There Will Even Be Faith When He Returns.

Luke 18:7-8 “Won’t God give justice to his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he delay long to help them? (8) I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?”

We Are Warned By Paul About The Preaching Of A Fake Jesus Being A False Gospel.

2 Corinthians 11:2-4 + 13-15 “For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy, because I promised you in marriage to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. (3) But I am afraid that just as the serpent deceived Eve by his treachery, your minds may be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. (4) For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus different from the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the one you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it well enough!”….. “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. (14) And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. (15) Therefore it is not surprising his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will correspond to their actions.”

Galatians 1:6-9 “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are following a different gospel – (7) not that there really is another gospel, but there are some who are disturbing you and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ. (8) But even if we (or an angel from heaven) should preach a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be condemned to hell! (9) As we have said before, and now I say again, if anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let him be condemned to hell!”

Satan wants to accomplish 2 Thessalonians 2:4 in the following ways: 1) The False Gospel, with its Fake Messiah and 2) The Mark Of The Beast- as we learned in the last study: The Judas Cipher. This is how Satan continues to reach his goal to exalt himself above God. By destroying God’s Church and wrecking the Body of Christ with Lies and deceptions of the Fake Jesus.

(4) He opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, and as a result he takes his seat in God’s temple, displaying himself as God.”

-1^st Adam Vs 2^nd Adam-

Son Of Perdition

Fake Jesus – Satan is still acting out the sin of Adam, and wants to teach the Body of Christ not to trust in the 2^nd Adam, Jesus our Christ. Fake Jesus – Satan wants the church to believe they don’t have to obey God, just like how he got Adam and Eve to disobey in the garden. Therefore the fake Jesus – Satan- is still exemplifying the attributes of the first Adam, not the last Adam. As fake Jesus – Satan still presents himself in the similitude of Adam and preaches a gospel according to the fleshly desires. Not the Spiritual Adam, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as clearly taught in the scriptures- which is a Gospel of Faith and Obedience.

1 Corinthians 15:45-49 “So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living person”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. (46) However, the spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and then the spiritual. (47) The first man is from the earth, made of dust; the second man is from heaven. (48) Like the one made of dust, so too are those made of dust, and like the one from heaven, so too those who are heavenly. (49) And just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, let us also bear the image of the man of heaven.”

Romans 5:12 “Therefore, even as through one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed on all men inasmuch as all sinned:”

Part 10 Of Escape Babylon: The Judas Cipher

We learned that Judas was the example set for us of who the Son of Perdition was.
That this Son of Perdition at the end of time will come from among the true Body of Christ.
He will pretend to be an angel of light, but deny God in every way.
We know that he will try to set himself up as God in the hearts of the believers. Since they are the temple of God, he will seek to profane that temple of every believer.
He will do this first by lies and deception, preaching apostasy, then by the Mark of the Beast.
Only those who retain the Spirit of Christ in the temple of their souls, and keep the antichrist spirit out, will be saved. This is done through faith and obedience.
The Son of Lawlessness will teach the body of Christ that they do not need to obey God, and they can break the Ten Commandments.
Finally, by worshipping the Beast System and the Son of Perdition, You are worshiping Satan -who is fake Jesus.

Part 6-8 Of Escape Babylon: Satan’s Résumé

We learned the ultimate goal of Satan is to pervert the will of God. To destroy His creation.
That he uses deception and tricks to accomplish this goal.
We know that Satan is god of this world, and wants to be god of mankind. This goal of subversion and perversion has never ended.
To that end, Satan has made war with the church. Seeking to destroy it from within with heresy and apostasy.
This antichrist spirit attacked the church right after Jesus was resurrected.
It was the same anti-god spirit that showed up in the Garden of Eden.

In Part 5 of Escape From Babylon: Is It Jesus?

We proved that just because they say Jesus, it’s not always the Jesus of the Bible.
We also proved that the names (Yashua/Yeshua/Joshua/Jesus) are not magical incantations. That just saying some vowels and consonants in the correct order does not unleash a mystical power, let alone salvation!
We showed that in order to be calling the name of Jesus not only as Savior, but also Lord, you must obey Him and God. This is done through keeping the commandments. Starting with the Ten found in Exodus 20.
If you do not obey Him, you are denying Him here on earth before man. You therefore have forsaken your salvation. By default, you have become antichrist.

Fake Jesus- Is Satan Pretending to Be Jesus?

We have to keep in mind that Satan’s plan is to make Fake Jesus replace the real in the Churches. As we learned in our last study, Satan is the power and the actor behind the façade of the son of perdition, the Fake Jesus. So, let’s prove this even more with the two competing systems. -Real Jesus VS Fake Jesus.-

Fake Jesus Is The Son Of Perdition/Destruction/Death.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 “Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of destruction [Perdition],”

Real Jesus Is The Son Of God.

John 10:36 “do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God?’”

Fake Jesus Is The Man Of Sin.

Real Jesus Was Sinless.

1 Peter 2:21-22 “For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps, (22) who didn’t sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”

Fake Jesus Sinned From The Start And Teaches Others To Do So.

1 John 3:8 “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.”

Real Jesus Has Never Sinned For All Eternity.

1 John 3:5 “You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin.”

Fake Jesus Is A Messiah Of Lawlessness.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 “For the mystery of lawlessness is already working, only he is now holding back until it comes out of the midst. (8) And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming,”

Real Jesus Is The Man Of Obedience.

Philippians 2:8 “And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

Fake Jesus Is Powered By Satan.

2 Thessalonians 2:8-10 “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the breath of His mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming, (9) whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (10) and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved.”

Real Jesus Is Powered By God And His Spirit.

Acts 10:37-38 “that word which was published throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John proclaimed; (38) how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good, and healing all those who were oppressed by the Devil, for God was with Him.”

Fake Jesus Is A Liar And Deceiver.

Revelation 12:9 “The great dragon was thrown down, the old serpent, he who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”

John 8:44 “You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and the father of lies.”

Real Jesus Is The Way, The Truth, And The Life.

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me.”

Fake Jesus Is The Enemy Of Righteousness.

Acts 13:10 “and said, “You who are full of all deceit and all wrongdoing, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness – will you not stop making crooked the straight paths of the Lord?”

Real Jesus Is The Perfect Example Of Righteousness.

Hebrews 1:8-9 “But to the Son He says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. (9) You have loved righteousness and hated iniquity, therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.”

Fake Jesus Is A Rebel Against God.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 “Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition, (4) who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.”

Real Jesus Only Did What Pleased God.

John 6:38 “For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.”

Fake Jesus Is The Spirit Of Anti-Christ.

1 John 4:2-3 “By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit who confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, (3) and every spirit who doesn’t confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God, and this is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that it comes. Now it is in the world already.”

Real Jesus Gives Us His Real Spirit Sent By God.

Galatians 4:6 “And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.”

Fake Jesus Declares The Spirit Of The World.
