In this study, we will continue to do an overview of what the Devil was after and what he tried to steal away from the children of God. This dovetails nicely with the end of “Satan’s Resume Part 3”. In that study, we also looked into exactly what was at play- being gods upon the earth endowed with power from God to rule with dominion and authority. Ultimately, this is a battle to regain what Adam and Eve gave up through disobedience and gain back even more!

Key Concepts:

• God Is “All Knowing” – (Omniscient)

Daniel 2:19-22 “Then in a night vision the mystery was revealed to Daniel. So Daniel praised the God of heaven,  (20)  saying, “Let the name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to him.  (21)  He changes times and seasons, deposing some kings and establishing others. He gives wisdom to the wise; he imparts knowledge to those with understanding;  (22)  he reveals deep and hidden things. He knows what is in the darkness, and light resides with him.”

• God Is “All Present” – (Omnipresent)

Jeremiah 23:23-24 “Do you people think that I am some local deity and not the transcendent God?” the LORD asks.  (24)  “Do you really think anyone can hide himself where I cannot see him?” the LORD asks. “Do you not know that I am everywhere?” the LORD asks.”

• God Is “All-Powerful” – (Omnipotent)

Revelation 19:6 “Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting: “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the All-Powerful, reigns!”

As we can see, God was not unaware or taken by surprise with Satan’s rebellion.

Tend the Garden, Multiply, and fill the earth

This command has never changed. What has changed, is the way this is accomplished.

• Adam & Eve

Genesis 1:27-28 “God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them.  (28)  God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it! Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground.”

Genesis 2:15 “The LORD God took the man and placed him in the orchard in Eden to care for it and to maintain it.”

Young’s Literal Translation Genesis 2:15 “And Jehovah God taketh the man, and causeth him to rest in the garden of Eden, to serve it, and to keep it.”

• Noah

Genesis 9:1 “Then God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.”

Continue the calling of Adam and Eve through the power of the 2^nd Adam: Jesus. Now we are filling the earth and multiplying, continuing the call in the garden. “Go and preach the Gospel to now fill the new garden of God!”

• Jesus & His Followers: Spiritual Vs Natural

1 Corinthians 15:45-49 “So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.  (46)  However that which is spiritual isn’t first, but that which is natural, then that which is spiritual.  (47)  The first man is of the earth, made of dust. The second man is the Lord from heaven.  (48)  As is the one made of dust, such are those who are also made of dust; and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.  (49) As we have borne the image of those made of dust, let’s also bear the image of the heavenly.”

Be Fruitful and Multiply!

Matthew 24:14 “This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

Revelation 14:6 “Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead and he had an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth – to every nation, tribe, language, and people.”

John 1:12-13 “But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name:  (13)  who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Romans 8:15-17 “For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”  (16)  The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;  (17)  and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.”

1 John 5:1-5 “Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.  (2)  By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.  (3)  For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.  (4)  For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.  (5)  Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”

We will be like the One who saved us! Multiplying little Jesus’ around the world!

1 John 3:1-4 “See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.  (2)  Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is.  (3)  Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.  (4)  Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.”

While the earth was made for Adam and Eve- given to humanity as a place of dominion, the kingdom of God was also prepared at the same time for what was going to happen. God is no fool and He knew what was about to happen to His paradise.

A Love Story Where the Hero Dies For The Villains

John 17:24 “Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.”

• Why Does God Love Jesus?

John 10:17-18 “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I might take it again.  (18)  No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down from Myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again. I have received this commandment from My Father.”

• Jesus: Dead Man Walking – from the very beginning of creation!

Revelation 13:8 “And all dwelling on the earth will worship it, those whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain, from the foundation of the world.”

To add some weight, please understand this:

Jesus created all things in the power of God, knowing that He was going to die for it all! So, when He made the earth, He also made His grave. This should tell us how much God wanted to extend His family.

John 1:1-4 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  (2)  The same was in the beginning with God.  (3)  All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made.”

The Devil’s Plan Failed From The Start

You were chosen before creation- Jesus knew exactly who He was dying for.

Matthew 25:33-34  “He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.  (34)  Then the king will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

The Kingdom Of God Given To You

• God will reveal all things to His children.

Matthew 13:34-35  “Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn’t speak to them,  (35)  that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”

Matthew 13:10-11 “Then the disciples came to him and said, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”  (11)  He replied, “You have been given the opportunity to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but they have not.”

• Shine bright as Children of the Kingdom.

Matthew 13:41-43 “The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everything that causes sin as well as all lawbreakers.  (42)  They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  (43)  Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one who has ears had better listen!”

• Walk As A Citizen Of Heaven & Defy The Devil’s Evil Plot!

Hebrews 12:28-29 “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear,  (29)  for also, “Our God is a consuming fire.”

1 Thessalonians 2:10-12  “You and God are witnesses how holily and justly and blamelessly we were to you who believe,  (11)  even as you know how we exhorted and comforted and testified to each one of you, as a father to his children,  (12)  that you should walk worthy of God, who has called you to His kingdom and glory.”

• Continue On As Faithful Children, Until The Work Is Done!

Luke 22:28-30 “You are those who have continued with Me in My trials.  (29)  And I appoint a kingdom to you, as My Father has appointed to Me,  (30)  that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

Acts 14:21-22  “And preaching the gospel to that city, and having made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and Iconium and Antioch,  (22)  confirming the souls of the disciples, calling on them to continue in the faith and that through much tribulation we must enter into the kingdom of God.”

Revelation 5:6-14 “Then I saw standing in the middle of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the middle of the elders, a Lamb that appeared to have been killed. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.  (7)  Then he came and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who was seated on the throne,  (8)  and when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders threw themselves to the ground before the Lamb. Each of them had a harp and golden bowls full of incense (which are the prayers of the saints).  (9)  They were singing a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because you were killed, and at the cost of your own blood you have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.  (10)  You have appointed them as a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”  (11)  Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels in a circle around the throne, as well as the living creatures and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand – thousands times thousands –  (12)  all of whom were singing in a loud voice: “Worthy is the lamb who was killed to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and praise!”  (13)  Then I heard every creature – in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them – singing: “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and ruling power forever and ever!”  (14)  And the four living creatures were saying “Amen,” and the elders threw themselves to the ground and worshiped.”

• The Ministry Of Jesus

Isaiah 22:20-24 “At that time I will summon my servant Eliakim, son of Hilkiah.  (21)  I will put your robe on him, tie your belt around him, and transfer your authority to him. He will become a protector of the residents of Jerusalem and of the people of Judah.  (22)  I will place the key to the house of David on his shoulder. When he opens the door, no one can close it; when he closes the door, no one can open it.  (23)  I will fasten him like a peg into a solid place; he will bring honor and respect to his father’s family.  (24)  His father’s family will gain increasing prominence because of him, including the offspring and the offshoots. All the small containers, including the bowls and all the jars will hang from this peg.’ 

• The Death Of Jesus

Isaiah 22:25  “At that time,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “the peg fastened into a solid place will come loose. It will be cut off and fall, and the load hanging on it will be cut off.” Indeed, the LORD has spoken.

• After His Resurrection, He Still Retains the Keys Of David.

Revelation 3:7  “To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write the following: “This is the solemn pronouncement of the Holy One, the True One, who holds the key of David, who opens doors no one can shut, and shuts doors no one can open:

The Keys of David: The keys of the kingdom of God- To open or close, to let those in or keep out. The power over life and death with absolute authority!

Revelation 1:12-18  “I turned to see whose voice was speaking to me, and when I did so, I saw seven golden lampstands,  (13)  and in the midst of the lampstands was one like a son of man. He was dressed in a robe extending down to his feet and he wore a wide golden belt around his chest.  (14)  His head and hair were as white as wool, even as white as snow, and his eyes were like a fiery flame.  (15)  His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters.  (16)  He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp double-edged sword extended out of his mouth. His face shone like the sun shining at full strength.  (17)  When I saw him I fell down at his feet as though I were dead, but he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid! I am the first and the last,  (18)  and the one who lives! I was dead, but look, now I am alive – forever and ever – and I hold the keys of death and of Hades/Hell!”

Then books were opened, and another book was opened – the book of life. So the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds.  (13)  The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and Death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each one was judged according to his deeds.  (14)  Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death – the lake of fire.  (15)  If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, that person was thrown into the lake of fire.”

Matthew 16:19-20 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”  (20) Then he instructed his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ.”

Like the “Keys of David”- the “Keys of the Kingdom Of Heaven” to open and close the doors of heaven, to spread and freely give the gospel truth, or to shut off.

Much like when Jesus told them to wipe the dust off their feet as a judgment against any city that does not receive them in Luke 10:8-12. Or, when Paul describes handing people over to Satan for the destruction of their flesh in 1 Corinthians 5:4-5. The ability to remit sins as found in John 20:23. And finally, when Ananias and Sapphira lied to God and fell dead in judgment in Acts 5:1-11.

Then The End Comes Of The Struggle

1 Corinthians 15:21-28 “For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man.  (22)  For just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.  (23)  But each in his own order: Christ, the first fruits; then when Christ comes, those who belong to him.  (24)  Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when he has brought to an end all rule and all authority and power.  (25)  For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.  (26)  The last enemy to be eliminated is death.  (27)  For he has put everything in subjection under his feet. But when it says “everything” has been put in subjection, it is clear that this does not include the one who put everything in subjection to him.  (28)  And when all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself will be subjected to the one who subjected everything to him, so that God may be all in all.”

Romans 12:21 “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”
