God Our Father
God Our Father
Focus Verse: Psalms 53:2 “God looked down from Heaven on the sons of mankind to see if any was discerning, who was seeking God.”
In Part 3 of “Getting To Know God” we will reveal the Fatherhood of God. We use Jesus as our proof of concept and case study. It is through Jesus that we are assured of the Fatherhood of our God. We find the blueprint of our redemption in the life and death, then resurrection of Jesus our Lord and Savior. Hopefully by the end of this study, you will witness a mighty miracle, a change in events, and the completion of a grand goal set by God and Jesus.

God Our Father
Let’s Read This 2 Way Love Letter Of Our God.
Psalms 139:1-24 “Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. (2) You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. (3) You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. (4) For there is not a word on my tongue, but, behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. (5) You hem me in behind and before. You laid your hand on me. (6) This knowledge is beyond me. It’s lofty. I can’t attain it. (7) Where could I go from your Spirit? Or where could I flee from your presence? (8) If I ascend up into heaven, you are there. If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, you are there! (9) If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea; (10) Even there your hand will lead me, and your right hand will hold me. (11) If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me; the light around me will be night;” (12) even the darkness doesn’t hide from you, but the night shines as the day. The darkness is like light to you. (13) For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. (14) I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. (15) My frame wasn’t hidden from you, when I was made in secret, woven together in the depths of the earth. (16) Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them. (17) How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is their sum! (18) If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I wake up, I am still with you. (19) If only you, God, would kill the wicked. Get away from me, you bloodthirsty men! (20) For they speak against you wickedly. Your enemies take your name in vain. (21) Yahweh, don’t I hate those who hate you? Am I not grieved with those who rise up against you? (22) I hate them with perfect hatred. They have become my enemies. (23) Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. (24) See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way.”
God Our Father
- The Fullness Of God’s Love Is Expressed In Jesus
Romans 8:37-39 “But in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (38) For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, (39) nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
- Jesus The Perfect Example Of God’s Fatherhood
Luke 1:34-35 “Mary asked the angel, “How can this happen, since I have not had relations with a man?” (35) The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come over you, and the power of the Most High will surround you. Therefore, the child will be holy and will be called the Son of God.”
- Jesus Affirms That He Is Proof Of God’s Fatherhood., So We Have To Have Jesus To Have Our Father.
John 5:22-23 “The Father judges no one, but has given all authority to judge to the Son, (23) so that everyone may honor the Son as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.”
- Jesus Then Affirms That His Presence Was Proof That Our Father God Wanted To Save His Children.
John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (17) For God did not send His Son into the world so that He might condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
- If We Believe This Is True, Then We Must All Submit To The Father Through Jesus.
Ephesians 3:14-15 “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, (15) from whom every family in heaven and upon earth takes its name,”
God Our Father
- Even After Jesus’ Resurrection, He remains The Perfect Example Of God’s Fatherhood.
John 20:17 “Jesus said to her, Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, I ascend to My Father and Your Father, and to My God and your God.”
- The Apostles Still Taught The Fatherhood Of God Concerning Jesus.
2 Corinthians 1:3 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort,”
2 Corinthians 11:31 “The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I do not lie.”
Ephesians 1:2-3 “Grace be to you, and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. (3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ;”
Ephesians 1:17 “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,”

1 John 1:2-3 “(for the Life was revealed, and we have seen it and bear witness, and show to you the everlasting Life, who was with the Father and was revealed to us), (3) that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”
2 John 1:3 “Grace will be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.”
God Our Father
“YHWH Is The Forever Father, The Supreme Elohim!”
God Our Father
Some say that the Fatherhood of God somehow changed with Jesus after His resurrection. Yet, as we have seen, just after he was resurrected He called God His Father and God. Then here, a very long time after the resurrection, He proclaims the facts again.
God Our Father
- The God And Father OF Jesus, As Stated By John
Revelation 1:5-6 “and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood; (6) and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests to his God and Father; to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
- To Remove Any And All Doubt: Jesus Declares, Yet Again, His Relationship With His Father God
Revelation 3:20-21 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. (21) He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne.”
Revelation 14:1 “I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him a number, one hundred forty-four thousand, having his name, and the name of his Father, written on their foreheads.”
Revelation 3:11-13 “I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown. (12) He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name. (13) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”
God Our Father
There Is No Doubt Of The Relationship Between Jesus And His God And Father. All we have to do is take Jesus at His word.
We have covered Jesus’ time on the earth during His ministry and after His resurrection, then after being in Heaven for a long time. So, we should also cover before the creation of the earth. This will help us understand the completeness of God’s Fatherhood.
God Our Father
- Father To Jesus From The Foundation of The World
John 17:24-26 “Father, I desire that those also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, so that they may behold My glory which You gave to Me; because You loved Me before the foundation of the world. (25) O righteous Father! Indeed the world did not know You, yet I knew You; and these knew that You sent Me. (26) And I made known to them Your name, and I will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”
We have seen that “YHWH” has been the Father or Daddy of Jesus since before creation, and then throughout man’s existence, we have seen that even after the earth made new, even beyond the gates of heaven, “YHWH” is Jesus’ Father. This, brothers and sisters, is why we can be secure with our trust in our Daddy.
God Our Father
Jesus is the proof of our hope!
God Our Father
John 1:12-13 “But as many as received Him, He gave them the authority to become children of God, to those who believe in His name; (13) who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.”
God Our Father
Let do a brief review of the Son-ship of Jesus, so we can reveal an amazing change of events.
- Jesus Declared To Be God’s Son With Power
Romans 1:3-4 “concerning his Son, who was born of the offspring of David according to the flesh, (4) who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord,”
God Our Father
Let’s Look at Two such Declarations of The Son-ship Of Jesus
- Declared In Heaven
Hebrews 1:5-8 “For to which of the angels did He say at any time, “You are My Son, this day I have begotten You?” And again, “I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son?” (6) And again, when He brings in the First-born into the world, He says, “And let all the angels of God worship Him.” (7) And of the angels He says, “Who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire.” (8) But to the Son He says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.”
- Declared On Earth -1st
Matthew 3:16-17 “Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him. (17) Behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
- Declared On Earth -2nd
2 Peter 1:17-18 “For he received from God the Father honor and glory when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (18) We heard this voice come out of heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.” See also Matthew 17:5
God Our Father
Jesus The Only Begotten…
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Jesus Is Declared To Be God’s “only Begotten Son”. Begotten Is An Old Way Of Saying “Born”. So Jesus At The Time, Was God’s “Only Born Son.” We Can See This Also In The Following Verse:
- Again, Only Begotten
1 John 4:9 “In this the love of God was revealed in us, because God sent His only begotten Son into the world that we might live through Him.”
Then An Amazing Change of Events Occurs. Something beautiful happens because of Jesus’ obedience to the Father.
God Our Father
See if you can spot the change.
- Miracles Of Miracles
Revelation 1:5-6 “Even from Jesus Christ the faithful Witness, the First-born from the dead and the Ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, (6) and made us kings and priests to God and His Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
God Our Father
Did you see it? Jesus has now gone from being the “only begotten” to the “first begotten/born.” Let’s read:
- First Born Of Many
Colossians 1:18 “And He is the Head of the body, the church, who is the Beginning, the First-born from the dead, that He may be pre-eminent in all things.”
God Our Father
Through The Perfection Of Jesus And The Shedding Of His Blood, He Has Now Been Transformed From “The Only” To “The First” & “The Beginning.” This Means That Many More Are To Come.
God Our Father
- Begotten Again
1 Peter 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (4) into an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, reserved in the heavens for you, (5) who by the power of God are being guarded through faith for the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
God Our Father
I know you saw it that time. Now we are begotten, or born, of God.
- Born Of God
1 John 5:1-5 “Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah has been born from God, and everyone who loves the parent also loves the child. (2) This is how we know that we love God’s children: we love God and keep his commandments. (3) For this demonstrates our love for God: We keep his commandments, and his commandments are not difficult, (4) because everyone who is born from God has overcome the world. Our faith is the victory that overcomes the world. (5) Who overcomes the world? Is it not the person who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?”
God Our Father
Now we cry out, You are my Father God because of Jesus and the spirit of Jesus in us.
- Abba Father
Galatians 4:6-7 “Because you are God’s children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into us to call out, “Abba! Father!” (7) So you are no longer slaves but God’s children. Since you are God’s children, God has also made you heirs.”
- We Have Been Birthed & Adopted By God
Romans 8:14-17 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (15) For you have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption by which we cry, Abba, Father! (16) The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. (17) And if we are children, then we are heirs; heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ; so that if we suffer with Him, we may also be glorified together.”
- Yet, You See This Was The Plan All Along.
Ephesians 1:3-6 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Christ; (4) according as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, (5) having predestined us to the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, (6) to the praise of the glory of His grace, in which He has made us accepted in the One having been loved.”
- Through Faith In God Through Jesus, We Become As Jesus- Children Of God
Galatians 3:26-29 “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. (27) For as many as were baptized into Christ, you put on Christ. (28) There cannot be Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is no male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (29) And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.”
- Jesus instructs us further on How to interact with our Father
Matthew 23:9 “And don’t call anyone on earth your father, because you have only one Father, and he is in heaven.”
God Our Father
This is not saying that the title “Father” is what shouldn’t be spoken, as the scripture itself uses the term concerning our earthly parents. (See: Matthew 15:4 + Ephesians 6:1-3) It is the spiritual implication, the implied preeminence of being supreme and the highest position in our hearts. God our Father alone holds this position.
God Our Father
God Our Father
It Is Through Jesus That We Have Our Father God.
God Our Father
- NO JESUS THEN NO GOD.
1 John 2:22-23 “Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the Antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. (23) Whoever denies the Son, the same doesn’t have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.”
John 5:24 “Truly, I tell all of you with certainty, whoever hears what I say and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged, but has passed from death to life.”
John 14:1 “Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.”
John 14:6-7 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. (7) If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him, and have seen him.”
- Faith In Jesus Is Really Faith In The God Who Sent Him.
John 12:44-45 “Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me. (45) He who sees me sees him who sent me.”
God Our Father
- Separate Yourselves From The World
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers; for what fellowship does righteousness have with lawlessness? And what partnership does light have with darkness? (15) And what agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what part does a believer have with an unbeliever? (16) And what agreement does a temple of God have with idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.” (17) Therefore come out from among them and be separated, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing. And I will receive you (18) and I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
- We Must Submit To Our Father God, And Then We Will Be Lifted Up As Children Of God.
James 4:7-10 “Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (8) Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (9) Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom. (10) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.”
- Receive The Blessing Of Our Father God
Revelation 21:1-8 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. For the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. And the sea no longer is. (2) And I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of Heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her Husband. (3) And I heard a great voice out of Heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. (4) And God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. And there will be no more death, nor mourning, nor crying out, nor will there be any more pain; for the first things passed away. (5) And He sitting on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said to me, Write, for these words are true and faithful. (6) And He said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who thirsts I will give of the fountain of the Water of Life freely. (7) He who overcomes will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son. (8) But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, will have their part in the Lake burning with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
God Our Father
We have witnessed the miracle of the life of Jesus as the Son of God. We have also seen how Jesus was the only begotten of God. Then, a mighty change of events with many children being born of God- because of Jesus. In the same way Jesus was birthed through the Holy Spirit upon Mary, we too are birthed by the Holy Spirit in us. Then we saw the completion of the goal in the book of Revelation when all things are fulfilled in Heaven. God residing with mankind for all eternity as Father God- FOREVER!
God Our Father
Romans 15:5-6 “And may the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like minded toward one another according to Christ Jesus, (6) so that with one mind and one mouth you may glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
