Why is this important? Why does our faith about the absolute rock-solid, unshakable truth in the word of God as found in the Bible, matter here at the end of time?

Matthew 24:23-25 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe him. (24) For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (25) Remember, I have told you ahead of time.”
The only defense against the deception is the word of God. Not signs and wonders, not our own hearts. We must search the Bible, for this is what the Lord says.
Jeremiah 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?”
We can’t even trust our own thoughts and feelings, not even our eyes and hearts. The only thing we can fully trust is God’s word. We can’t trust the preacher, the Christian radio & TV, the prophet, or any other point of information. We must seek the word of God, testing all else in the power of God.
1 John 4:1-3 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits to see if they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (2) By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God; (3) and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the antichrist you heard is coming, and even now is already in the world.”
We are warned by God that another false, perverse gospel that is no gospel at all must be avoided. The only way to know the difference between the two is to know the Bible and be lead by the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 1:6-8 “I marvel that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ to a different “good news”; (7) and there isn’t another “good news.” Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Christ. (8) But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you any “good news” other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.”
So, let’s look at the power of God’s word called the Bible “scriptures,” and see why the devil wants to destroy your trust in them.

Scripture by its nature is based upon eyewitness testimony.
1 John 1:1-4 “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of Life, (2) (for the Life was revealed, and we have seen it and bear witness, and show to you the everlasting Life, who was with the Father and was revealed to us), (3) that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. (4) And we write these things to you so that your joy may be full.”

At its very heart all scripture is “Jesus Christ:” the word of God given to us, the children of God. Jesus is the word of God made flesh.
John 1:1-4 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (2) The same was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made. (4) In him was life, and the life was the light of men.” John 1:14 “The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

As we can see, the word of God is our everything: the key to our salvation and relationship with God. We must defend it, honor it, memorize it, share it, endorse it, and shout it loud in society. We cannot give up one inch of ground to the authenticity and veracity of its divine origin. No one is above the word of God, all must submit to the authority of Christ and God. So, prepare yourself for the coming attack on the divine words of truth. Prepare by writing it upon your very soul, where no one can take it from you!
