Before we begin, this is not a Bible study of perfection or earning salvation. It is about the right response to salvation. No one is or can be perfect; though we are called to follow the example of Jesus. If we follow this example, even in our failure, we are still His disciples. If we refuse to change our ways and follow that example, we are neither His disciples nor His children. I must say, as the first response to the rebellious God haters, is that I am preaching about earning salvation, or perfection. NO. I am preaching letting the Holy Spirit change your life and actions through a choice to follow His lead. Casting off your rebellion and submitting to God in all things, at all time- no exception. Have You Been Called To The Lord In Vain? This must be said, so it can be said of the Lord that it was said. The likelihood that the mind blind and deaf hearers will be able to even notice such a call is relatively nonexistent. With such stark and harsh tone meant to shake people awake will likely barely disturb the lifeless corpse of apathy called the dead church. But Love, Love! Brother Lance, this is not Love! They say that God is love and we have nothing to fear. I say you have urinated on the love of God, rejected His call and defecated on the grace given to you. You lie to yourselves thinking God will not respond to those who reject His call and rebel against His commands. You will be crushed by the wrath of God. You are dead now and you will be dead then. Your death in the shadow of His infinite love will be in the flame-filled light of His wrath against sin. You have left the path of your escape and entered the wide path of destruction. He is why!

Revelation 3:2-3 “Wake up, and keep the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God. The Body of Christ suffers from the cancer called apathy, indifference, and lack of love for God. Our perception of comfort is skewed by our level of previous prosperity and ease. Any step lower of our previous heights magnifies our experience of discomfort and displeasure. Each step lower feels that much greater. This creates a lust within us for the “good ole days” of when we had “xyz.” Much in the same way the Israelites during their exodus to the promise land, remembered fondly their slavery, as they had more to eat. Preferring slavery over God’s presence to better feed the desires of the flesh. This deadly trap is alive well and in western Christianity. Anything like this that causes discomfort must be stopped, it must be corrected. This pleasure and ease mindset of heathenism is alive and well in the Body of Christ, though the Spirit of God teaches us that self preservation is the enemy of the move of the Spirit of God. If this is not true, please do tell me of any work of God, any move of the spirit that did not take blood, sweat, tears, sacrifice, obedience, and love. Please do point out to me of any story in the Bible that these ingredients were not present in some degree. No, it was the obedient, God-fearing, giving God their best, not their rest, not their leftovers- people who took the hits and sacrificed self and desires to perform an obedient act for the cause of God and Christ. In contrast, the Body of Christ is full of necrotic, lifeless flesh, feeding off the remnant that is alive, turning the rest into a corpse that is falling to the death spirit of hell- parasitic buffet feeders who seek only their prosperity and well being. Expecting the host to do more and give more, so they can have more and take more. Not caring or realizing that they are killing the host of their pleasure.

Jesus tells us to cut these parts off. It is better to go into Heaven maimed as a body, rather than the entire body be thrown into Hell.

Mark 9:42-50 “Whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if he were thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around his neck. (43) If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having your two hands to go into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire, (44) ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’ (45) If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life lame, rather than having your two feet to be cast into Gehenna, into the fire that will never be quenched— (46) ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’ (47) If your eye causes you to stumble, cast it out. It is better for you to enter into God’s Kingdom with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna of fire, (48) ‘where their worm doesn’t die, and the fire is not quenched.’ (49) For everyone will be salted with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt. (50) Salt is good, but if the salt has lost its saltiness, with what will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with one another.”

These parts are offensive and only consume the substance of the parts of us that are alive. Much in the same way the wheat and tares grow up together. The wheat must compete for the nutrients against the weeds. While God says to let these grow together as we don’t know what they will become fully sprouted. As the above verses tell us, we are not to allow the diseased tares to infect the healthy wheat. At this point we are to cut and remove.

Matthew 13:24-30 “Jesus used another illustration. He said, “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who planted good seed in his field. (25) But while people were asleep, his enemy planted weeds in the wheat field and went away. (26) When the wheat came up and formed kernels, weeds appeared. (27) “The owner’s workers came to him and asked, ‘Sir, didn’t you plant good seed in your field? Where did the weeds come from?’ (28) “He told them, ‘An enemy did this.’ “His workers asked him, ‘Do you want us to pull out the weeds?’ (29) “He replied, ‘No. If you pull out the weeds, you may pull out the wheat with them. (30) Let both grow together until the harvest. When the grain is cut, I will tell the workers to gather the weeds first and tie them in bundles to be burned. But I’ll have them bring the wheat into my barn.'”

We Are Also Told That We Can Know Them By Their Fruits. This allows us to know the difference from the wheat in repair of their soul. Compared to the tares sent to pollute the Body of Christ. This is easy to differentiate. Are they living in repentance and just struggling, or are they in open rejection of God and in rebellion, not submission?

Matthew 7:16-20 “By their fruits you will know them. Do you gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles? (17) Even so, every good tree produces good fruit; but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. (18) A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. (19) Every tree that doesn’t grow good fruit is cut down, and thrown into the fire. (20) Therefore by their fruits you will know them.”

If They Reject The Truth, We Are To Wipe The Dust Off Our Feet Against Them.

Matthew 10:11-15 “Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on. (12) As you enter into the household, greet it. (13) If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you. (14) Whoever doesn’t receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet. (15) Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.”

And Purge The Body And Turn Them Over To Satan. YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT.

1 Corinthians 5:1-7 “It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles, that one has his father’s wife. (2) You are arrogant, and didn’t mourn instead, that he who had done this deed might be removed from among you. (3) For I most certainly, as being absent in body but present in spirit, have already, as though I were present, judged him who has done this thing. What I have found in 6 years of fulltime ministry, and on and off again my entire life is this: The Gospel has been cheapened to such a degree, the value debased so low, that those who would receive it can no longer understand the vital necessity of it. If the Gospel is only preached as “you are loved,” get a warm fuzzy, get what you want out of God, then this “product” of personal happiness is no different than any other available in the world. The fear of hell and eternal punishment based upon God’s righteous judgment has been completely lost in the west. As I see it, for a great revival to happen again in America, this fear of God must be renewed and set ablaze. How else will they value His “Grace and Mercy,” if they do not understand His “Wrath and Judgment” of God? The wrath and judgment He took out on His own Son for their benefit and salvation.
