Intro Verse: Job 23:8-12 â€œIf I go east, he is not there; if west, I can’t find him; (9)  He works to the north, but I can’t see him. He turns south, but I can’t catch a glimpse of him.  (10)  But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I shall come out like gold.  (11)  My foot has held fast to his steps. I have kept his way, and not turned away.  (12)  I haven’t gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.”

Now, let us look at some key concepts that best apply the Word of God to our entire being. What is the recipe given to us by the Word of God, to best apply the Word of God? The following keys help us start to understand:

Acts 17:11 â€œNow these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.”

Hebrews 5:11-14 â€œAbout him we have many words to say, and hard to interpret, seeing you have become dull of hearing.  (12)  For although by this time you should be teachers, you again need to have someone teach you the rudiments of the first principles of the revelations of God. You have come to need milk, and not solid food.  (13)  For everyone who lives on milk is not experienced in the word of righteousness, for he is a baby.  (14)  But solid food is for those who are full grown, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil.”

Isaiah 28:9-10 â€œWhom will he teach knowledge? To whom will he explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?  (10)  For it is precept on precept, precept on precept; line on line, line on line; here a little, there a little.”

2 Timothy 2:15 â€œGive diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.”

1 John 2:27 â€œAs for you, the anointing which you received from him remains in you, and you don’t need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is no lie, and even as it taught you, you will remain in him.”

John 1:1-14 â€œIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  (2)  The same was in the beginning with God.  (3)  All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made.  (4)  In him was life, and the life was the light of men.  (5)  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.  (6)  There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John.  (7)  The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him.  (8)  He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light.  (9)  The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.  (10)  He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognize him.  (11)  He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.  (12)  But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name:  (13)  who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  (14)  The Word became flesh, and lived among us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John 8:31-32 â€œJesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples.  (32)  You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

Romans 10:17 â€œSo faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

1 Corinthians 3:2 â€œI fed you with milk, not with meat; for you weren’t yet ready. Indeed, not even now are you ready,”

Hebrews 10:22-25 â€œLet’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,  (23)  let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.  (24)  Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works,  (25)  not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching.”
